" I went to get a check-up from the hospital. They said I have slight whip lash and I can't work for 2 days. And given a $1,000 medical bill. "

They charged you/(Your healthcare/insurance) $1,000 to get a CHECK-UP????? o.o

I can't afford health insurance atm. Basically if you can't afford it in this country, you better pray you never get sick or hurt or you'll be drowning in debt. If I do end up paying in full, It'll take me probably 5-7 months

I just have to get in comment on the bill too: That's absolute robbery. I mean, I'm well aware of the health care situation in the U.S., but still, that's outrageous, and I feel for you on that as much as the rest of the situation. Good luck going forward.

The whole healthcare system is crazy in the United States. Here is the funny part, we pay more per capita than any country that actually has affordable/free health care. What's up with that.

Yeah. Its pretty bad. The lady even said, "The $1,000 is just for showing up. Thats the absolute minimum payment. Assuming you didn't get a doctor or get medicine."

Corolla vs Civic age old rivalry

That's surprisingly much damage. Also, those questions sound very American (or from a third-world country) to someone from an actually civilized country.

That's pretty insane. Dude saying he "doesn't know" what happened reminds me of something similar that happened to someone I know recently, I wonder if it was a similar issue. In any case though, at least everyone's fine - I can't really help you with your questions, but I'm always happy to know nothing too serious happened.

Looks like he admitted fault. Theyll be paying for all damages, including medical

Aw man, why did you black out your license plate like that?

A few years ago a friend and I were side swiped in his Excurison. We hit a telephone pole went end over end then rolled 5 times. Fun stuff.

Glad you are fine, but sadly with any car collision your insurance will go up.

With that in mind, since it is his fault, do not feel bad about making his insurance take full responsibility. I already know you kind of struggle financially so this situation sucks for sure.

You sure? I asked my company and they said it won't since the guy had full liability for the issue
