Forums - General Discussion - Life goals you've recently accomplished

I paid off my student loan like a month ago. It wasn't a big loan but I paid it off anyway. I'd say that means I'm debt free but I own a house so it's a lie. But because I needed to srt that out and got a new 'term' I lowered my payments of that by £50 so i should have nearly and extra £100 coming in every month, so to speak.

But I'm a tight bastard so probably won't spend it on anything.

Hmm, pie.

I survived until today to play ELEX. That's almost 30 straight years of not dying.

You managed to not die for 30 years straight? Wow, congrats!

In some countries that's a record.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

This July I've ran a half-marathone. Feels cool.

Reached the point where I can understand written spanish more than 50% of the time. Got a job that pays well enough for me to move out on my own.

Get a Southampton season ticket then (unless you already have one?)!

Live 200 miles away.... but I'm a tight bastard, what makes you think I'd spend that kinda money? :P

I have a successful job, married, bought a house and a car last year and feeling kinda hopeless because for sure I do not have major goals in life anymore. My only goal right now is to finish Horizon Zero Dawn. That game has taken me forever to finish.

I managed to combine my six current loans into one loan on my home, which make me save $1000 every month. It will enable a brand new kitchen before summer, which feels fantastic :).

Oh... wow... didn't realise you were so distant. Thought since you're a Soton fan you'd live locally

And why would you spend that kinda money? Because you never had it before so you could argue you won't be spending extra since it's money that you were already spending on something else anyway.

Life history time. From the south (Kent), but started supporting saints because of my brother who got into football when we went to a wedding in Southampton once and a great uncle was watching it on TV, so my brother supported saints, so I supported saints. Dad isn't into football. Now in Notts.

Hmm... fair arguments but a tight person is an odd thing to be. If I have to spend money on myself, I find it hard to do, I could need food or something for the house but my mind says "Get it later." "You don't need to spend that much money now,." "Do you really need that?" "What if you find it cheaper?" and all these other things convincing me to not spend the money. Soon as I've bought the item, I'm fine with things.

Hmm, pie.

I struggled through a 10K without stopping which is pretty good for my cardio.

I platinum'd bloodborne. It wasn't a life goal until I realized I was halfway through the platinum from just playing the game. Just did it this weekend, felt as good as passing a kidney stone or passing a real big bowel movement, just pure ecstasy and relief.
