Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is Breath of the Wild's sound track lackluster?

I have heard this statement in a lot of gaming forums that this game soundtrack is lacklustre. I personally think that this game's soundtrack is overall very good. Not as good as skyward sword's but equal to the other 3d Zelda games.

Wow ... 3 pieces. Nice.

They say it's lackluster because when you're actually PLAYING THE GAME and not watching youtube videos, it is lacking. Duh.

Because it is.

Because they can't appreciate minimalism.

Those three videos are examples. I can't put the entire soundtrack on here.

Compared to every other zelda game, I'd say it's lackluster. As much as I love hearing trees and birds and nature... I'd rather have WW's sound track.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Maybe they can't get into the minimalist stylings.

Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

From a series that has given us masterpieces, many of which can be found in the same game, such as:

Ocarina of Time:

Majora's Mask:

Wind Waker:

Hateno Villege Day, while good, can't touch the original source.

Twilight Princess:

Skyward Sword:

So many classics can be found in just one game. There are many other great pieces in each of those games, but for now, I stuck with my absolute favorites.

Breath of the Wild in comparison, while it certainly has memorable and breathtaking pieces of its own. The quantity does not come even remotely close to that of the games that precede it.
And from the Legend of Zelda franchise, we aren't necessarily expecting better, because like I said, Breath of the Wild has incredible pieces of its own, but we expected more. Much more.
Grass, birds, trees, and wind is nice, and it fits this game perfectly, but I'd rather hear Lorule's theme, or the Forest Temple from Ocarina of Time (even though that temple sucks major Dongs), or the orchestral piece that plays while you're flying through Skyloft.

THAT'S what everyone means when they say Breath of the Wild's soundtrack is lackluster. Because compared to there others, it certainly is.

Not that its not good(it is), but compared to past entries, it falls short. It is one of the VERY few flaws the game has. When you compare to the legendary tracks that defined the franchise and the videogame music that past entries introduced, like Kakariko Village or Gerudo Valley in OOT, or the overall Zelda theme and Hyrule theme in ALTTP, it simply cant compare.

And while its not "fine", I get why they have done that, and I appreciate as such.Just hope that for the next Zelda they dont go minimalistic.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Update: I edited the title and the description. I really didn't like how they were both worded.
