I expect the next Zelda game AND another unrelated game to use the same engine (or an upgraded version of it ), If I were to guess I'd say either the Thief IP from Aonuma or a new Kid Icarus would be fitting

Oh, yeah, I really want to see what Aonuma could be cooking up.
And I would love a new Kid Icarus titile.

I'm hoping that team working on Metroid Prime is using it, the physic aspect of the engine would be a perfect fit for Metroid.

I'd love if they did a OOT/Majoras Mask Deal. Show us Termina again with the beautiful cel-shaded graphics and sweet physics engine. Imagine a Termina as big as Hyrule in BOTW. A man can dream....

Ignore it.

Shell shaded pokemon? I will buy that like there is no tomorrow

Aonuma really needs to create a new IP before he retires because he deserves to be known for more than being "the Zelda guy".  Yeah, Zelda has maintained its pedigree under his watch and there's no shame in being associated with one of the top IP's in gaming history but I'd also like him to have a successful IP that he can call his own.

I really don't think they would reuse this engine for other franchises, that just doesn't look like a Nintendo thing to do.

Making another Zelda with this engine would be great, but I can't think of much more that can be expanded in this generation. Maybe show the world 100 years before BoTW, but the map being the same is kind of a bummer.

Termina, New Hyrule (adult timeline), the lands from the Oracle games, a new land that borders Hyrule, etc

There is plenty they can expand on in this gen, with more potential as it will actually be designed for the Switch rather than the WiiU.  They can perfect the formula even further too by adding deeper plot and scatter some hidden traditional dungeons as well.  The possibilities go far deeper than you imagine.

I understand OOT but MM doesn't make sense, wasn't its purpose to have a small world filled with great characters in order for them to be enjoyable even after dozzens of attempts at finishing the game ?

I would really like to see Game Freak using the engine for BotW for their Switch game but I think it won't happen, GF set itself too far from Nintendo to make such a request and they have so much money that from Nintendo's perspective it might almost seem insulting. Plus BotW's artstyle even if adapted would need a massive ammount of work to make it more recognizable for Pokémon fans...

More than anything the creation of a new IP would rappresent the pinnacle of his career at Nintendo, I don't think it's a case that we met so many of the young developers behind BotW after its release, it's clear that the higher ups are changing at Nintendo as time passes and the great devs/directors we all know and love start retiring, for someone as important as Aonuma it'd be a bummer to leave having "only" worked on Zelda, a series that wasn't even created by him but by Miyamoto, instead if he managed to make something special with this thief game he'd be reminded more easily

I'd love a sequel for Breath of the Wild, like Majora's Mask was for Ocarina of Time.

I don't think Nintendo is going to use the same engine for other franchises, but they may use elements of it.

Expecting Nintendo to use a specific engine for their other franchises is just ... weird ... I don't think they do that with most of their engine specific franchises

What I can see being done is a 2nd 3D Zelda, and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmaybe a 2D Zelda but i'd honestly expect it's own engine for that.

The irony is that a Pokemon game with the BOTW engine would actually make a lot of sense but it won't happen, Gamefreak does things their own way
