My take? I dunno, I think they're cute. As long as they don't talk they can't possibly be Jar-Jar bad. Right? They do look like something outta Pokemon, I guess they are meant to sell a lot of toys this holiday. 

Lol I thought Porgs was Progs spelled wrong. Progs for Progressives. Lol.

I like them heh... I love all the weird aliens that make up the Star Wars universe; that variety is one of the things that always makes the Rebels so fun to cheer for.

The key is to not make them overly annoying and/or a big part of the story, and it seems pretty clear that these "Porgs" are mostly just there to be cute and offer a couple funny moments. If that's the case, then I'm a fan. :)

I was fine with BB-8, but seeing this new pet/sidekick in the trailer did make me roll my eyes a little. May be harmless in the end, but definitely feels like it could pander to the little ones a bit too hard. We'll see.

I liked BB-8 as well actually, though I was surprised how cute he was in the movie. 

You guys worry to much about silly things and take Star Wars too seriously. Star Wars always had weird/quirky creatures/things. It's just another one... that will just bring some lighthearted fun to the movie (and sell tons of toys). Personally, I loved it. <3

Silly you. Progressives already ruined Star Wars. There are women and colored people now. Not long before our children are subjected to droid on droid anal sex.

Seriously though, they look Ewoks level bad....but I'm sure Disney will be thrilled with all the merchandise.
