I might share a similar opinion than you. I mean, the game looks excelent for those who like these type of Mario games. And I don't complain much about it because people were asking for this for years. But... tbh, I'm not the biggest fan of Mario platformer games with such a big scale. I prefer level-based, linear Mario platformer games usually. Hopefully this game proves me wrong, but I don't see it yet.

You should read the NX/Switch thread where people were making their predictions man that thread turned into a warzone after Switch launched and did well.

I saw excerpts of it on another thread. Crow was served! Wish i had read it all tho. Also the BOTW reviews thread was good fun.

Only for the main Mario titles since N64.

Also, they dropped 1ups, and make you pay with coins. I think that is a good idea, because coins have a value now.

No, you said they "dropped" Mario's health being dependent on power-ups. They didn't "drop" anything, because not using power ups for health isn't a new thing for 3D Mario, or even 2D Mario, since you want to bizzarely conflate the two.
