Just to know - NPD's Tomorrow, right?
Bet with PeH:
I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.
Bet with WagnerPaiva:
I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

In theory, but we won't get anything resembling results before next thursday.

BotW is winning comfortably. TP (Wii only) legged it out to a good 600k units lifetime. BotW (Switch only) has reached 600k LTD this week (physical only) and it's not close to being finished. |
Thanks! So BoTW has comfortably won that race. Do we have weekly numbers for OOT as well? It's the bestselling Zelda in japan if I recall correctly.
killeryoshis said: Hey ARMS is back from the dead! Also Super Famicom Mini sold like 300k. Also Nintendo has like 70% in Japan. I do not think we have seen that happen weekly since 2006. |
368k more accurate.
I’m going to take a guess and aay Nintendo is stockpiling for Super Mario Odyssey

Media Create exists only since 2000, I think. The Japanese sales archive at garaph.info (sadly it hasn't been updated since early 2013) suggests that Famitsu didn't publish software sales prior to the PS2, so there's only weekly hardware without any software before the year 2000. OoT is the third-best selling Zelda game in Japan with lifetime sales of 1.45m, according to VGC. Not sure if Famitsu ever released lifetime figures for older games or if this is merely an estimate by VGC, based on worldwide shipment data that was provided by Nintendo. |
Media Create have been covering the Japanese market for over 20 years. While they started tracking back in 1994, you're not going to find much public data from before 2000.
Famitsu have been publishing weekly sales for over 30 years. The figures from 1986-1995 are simply raw numbers extrapolated with a fixed multiplier, so the accuracy is going to be questionable. Their coverage rate increased significantly after 1996, allowing them to give more precise estimates.
Sales data from 1996 onwards can be found on online archives. Figures preceding 1996 can be found in issues of their weekly magazine.
Some huge hardware drops this week but overall still not a bad week for PS4!

Do you have a link to such an online archive? And more precisely, Ocarina of Time sales data? |
