The Most Powerful console ever made...
And your laptop has exceeded it already.

Nice laptop, how much did it cost you?

Not really, the XBox One X runs Rise of the Tombraider in better framerate at almost 4K, he didnt specified how much it costed but probably 3500€ vs 350€ PS4 Pro and the 500€ for XBox One X.

I think it is too soon to make that call, we don't know what settings the OP was running at.
For all we know they were running 4k with 8XMSAA, and we don't know (I don't think so) exactly what the XxX is running at.

We need to test equal settings for it to be a fair competition.

Plus the Laptop has a faster CPU, more RAM and an SSD.
The GPU is not the only thing is to be measured when talking about system speed.

Good for you, some nice specs. I got one too but far far less powerful. Probably at a fraction of the cost too as it was on sale, has a 1050 though. I'm not looking to turn pro, I just want a laptop that can run things.

Hmm, pie.

What's G-Sync do? I've heard of that term but never was really sure what it does.

I've heard good things about Pillars of Eternity. After I beat Divinity 2, I'll definitely look into that game.

Roger that! This laptop has great fans and I'm making sure it's in a completely vented area. Plus there's a button on the case that supercharges the fans to expel heat (sounds like a jet engine when it's going full bore!). BTW, what is an ideal temperature for a gaming machine? I should probably get a temperature program so I can monitor and make sure it doesn't overheat.

I think it has some problems because it was in native 4k. I think if I had it set to  1440P, then it would probably run just fine.

Thanks for the suggestions! I always wanted to play Total War games but before this, I never had a good enough computer for that. Cities: Skylines also seems like it would be right down my alley as well!

Should run fine in 4k. Assuming your drivers are up to date.

Well, I messed around with the settings and I guess I can run it just fine at 4k with everything except the AA on max. And at 4k resolution, I noticed no difference when the AA was at max or the lowest setting. Those graphics are insane though!

I downloaded Speedfan which is free. I am not an expert on Laptop temperatures, but this is just my observations of my own laptop as it overheats.

Since you have an i7  like me, I feel it will be somewhat similar as they are pretty efficient, for others it might be much worse.

30-50C: Probably ideal, my computer doesn't do this anymore except for the HD0.

50-70C:  If playing a game that is pretty intense, this is what it will probably run at. Shouldn't harm it, but during the summer with no AC there could be problems.

70-90C: This is what my computer runs at 90% of the time now,  it is too hot but no problems with non games, and if I can keep the temp at this area I can play some games.  Fans are kinda noisy but not too bad.

90C-100C: Shouldn't do anything but cooling down your computer at this point, once my GPU hits 100C my computer automatically turns off to prevent damages. If it gets this hot, there are some serious problems I fear. Fans are ridiculously loud. If it is cool enough in my room I can play one 50 min game of League of Legends on the worst settings and it will stay at around 91C, if it is too hot my computer will slowly creep up to 100C and I have to disconnect  and reconnect to keep it cool.

Thanks for this, I appreciate it! I downloaded Speedfan and noticed afterward that I have a program called MSI Dragon Center that monitors all of that. At idle just doing web browsing the GPU is about 49C and CPU is around 42C. But with the GPU being fully used, it ranges between 76 - 80C, which apparently is pretty typical of GTX 1080 cards since they run fairly hot. I haven't played a game that uses more than 40% of the CPU (which appears to be overclocked since the CPU clock was in the 3.5GHz range during gaming) so the highest I've seen that go is in the low - mid 60C range.

Why thank you, kind sir! :)

I remember you.

I got a gaming laptop a few years ago, making sure it was lightweight. It was a good decision.

Hey, I remember you too! :D

Mine was not so lightweight but yes, good decision indeed!

Haha, hey I brought it upon myself for adding that as a poll option :D

Thats looks amazing.

And go on, tell us the price

Everything points to an MSI GT73VR but I haven't found configurations with just 240GB SSD. It's probably not a Razer Blade Pro because that's much better.

Anyway, if he got that thing for less than $3000 he got a good deal.

It is an MSI GT73VR 7RF (good catch!) that I customized with specs that I wanted. Fine, I'll just come out with it, it cost about $2,750. As a bonus, it came with about "$450" of freebies, including, multiple gaming mice, headsets, the biggest backpack I have ever seen, and even an MSI Dragon squeeze toy thing, lol.

Good choice. Laptops to me are the future. They are everything in one. There Portable, there as powerful as a PC tower and the biggest collection of games in the industry.
Like someone mentioned above, keep it cool when playing for long periods. I brought on Ebay a Fan Stand design for Laptops. Only cost me $20 and runs off your Lappys USB. I recommand one especially since your laptop is a beast.

Yeah, I love laptops, being able to bring it with me wherever I go is a huge bonus! That is a great idea! I will definitely look into getting one!

When it was running good, I had all setting at max 4k except for AA which I had at the lowest setting, which is OK since it appears AA is kind of redundant when at 4k resolution (at least I notice no difference). Not sure what my FPS was though. It cost significantly less than 3500. It cost me about $2,750.

MSI's are nice! I got an ASUS, but my brother and best friend got MSIs and I am thinking about getting one next.

Don't forget it's also portable and can run a lot more games among other things.

Yeah, at this point it's not even worth anymore to even respond to Ruler's hallucinations and constantly shifting goal posts.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

$2,750???!!!

I got light headed just reading that.

Anybody heard on any pricing for what raven ridge will be around? I know it wont be a gtx 1080 equivalent but I dont intend to pay more than $1k for a laptop.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I am not who started it, why was it even necceary to bring up the Xbox One X?

And it being portable doesnt excuse the comparison with 3000€ vs 500€ price tag, the XBox One is almost portable how tiny the case is, very high built quality for the price just like with every console

Well the laptop does come with a high quality 4k screen attached, twice the total RAM (VRAM + system memory), an SSD, etcetera.
