Hello all!

As many of you know, or may not know depending on who remembers me anymore, I have always been an Xbox fan and have primarily played games there. However, within the last few weeks, I decided to get a beast gaming laptop, and have been absolutely loving it! I won't say the price of it because it hurt to buy it but the specs on it are as follows:

- a 17.3" IPS 4k, Anti-Glare Screen.
- Intel Core i7-7820HK @2.9GHz/8MB L3 Cache
- 16GB DDR4 @ 2400 Mhz
- Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5
- 240GB SSD & 1TB 7200 RPM HDD
- Windows 10 Pro Edition

So far I'm blown away by how good the graphics are at 4k ultra settings (1080P looks noticeably blurry now). Some of the games I've played include Divinity 2, Rise of the Tomb Raider, CIV 6, Vanishing of Ethen Carter, Forza Horizon 3, and Shadow of War. The only game that I couldn't run at 4k with everything at max settings was Rise of the Tomb Raider because that chugged at about 20 FPS. An added bonus is that the frame rate on these games are so much better than what I'm used to for a lot of Xbox One games. I recently went back to The Witcher 3 on X1, and was surprised at how blurry the graphics looked and how many framerate jitters there were because I used to think the graphics and performance for that game were great!

I'm still playing X1 games because that's where my close friends are, but I just love the Play Anywhere games that Xbox has because I can still be on the Xbox ecosystem but play the games with insane graphics and performance (I'm hoping more and more games go that route).

Overall, even though the laptop cost an arm and a leg, I am so happy about it! BTW, feel free to send some PC Exclusive recommendations my way if you have any! 

As a side note, I haven't been able to get too far into Divinity 2, but it is an incredible game!

Nice, my Aorus has a 3K screen. Will need upgrading upon the release of PS5.

You no longer need the X1, and buy Divinity 2. (Missed it)

TBH, I didn't even know 3K screen resolution was a thing. I'm sure it handles games pretty well though!

I'll still be keeping my X1 around to play games like Destiny, Borderlands and other similar games with my friends, but I'll probably be playing the majority of my games on the PC now. Oh and I already have Divinity 2 :D I would classify it as a masterpiece.

My GPU solution is not strong enough for max settings @ 3K though.

You should try Tyranny if you like isometric RPG's. Also Pillars of eternity is pretty good.

Nice! Just one thing, make sure you keep it cool. No exceptions. My "gaming" laptop from 2011 has ceased to play games for awhile now, due to cooling problems.

Nice laptop. However you should be able to run ROTR at max settings. Haven't seen any reviews of laptops with a 1080 gpu having issues with it.

Nice specs. You shouldn't have much trouble playing any game you'd like.

If you like strategy games, you might want to look into the Total War series. Also, Grim Dawn and Titan Quest, while not exactly that great-looking, might be nice if you enjoy Diablo-like games. Oh, and strictly speaking not exclusive, but Cities: Skylines is awesome and probably much better on PC because of mouse and keyboard as well as mods. Speaking of mods, playing Bethesda's games on PC can be quite different from playing them on consoles because of mods. There's a lot more I could recommend, but here's something.

nice one. Im waiting for the hollidays to get me one. I hardly ever play on pc, but If Im getting a laptop it will be nice if I could game on it anyways.

What he said. Mine overheats so fast now games grind to a halt after 15 minutes. Keep it cool and clean. I can burn my fingers on the exhaust in the summer.
