Forums - Politics Discussion - We need to stop NRA (nonsensical rifle addiction)

So a few months back Arjen Lubach released a video about Trump. Unfortunately the Netherlands still isn't second. However it seems the US has become a dark place due to NRA. The world and especially Europe (because money) needs to help fight NRA.

P.S. this is meant as comedy, but since that isn't a topic I guess politics is as close as it gets.

Funny thing is that I bought the NRA cap a few weeks ago. Probably not a good idea to wear it for a few weeks.

Not as long you are not in the congress. But if you are by all means do so.

"Guns don't kill people. I kill people, with guns." - Jon Lajoie

The issue isn't even the guns, it's how easy it is to get them. The fact that the NRA allows people with severe cognitive disabilities to still own a gun is irresponsible and dangerous to not only the individual but those around them. On top of that, the fact that gun research is prohibited in this country is absolutely stupid and is in itself admission of guilt.

I'm all for people owning guns. But only if they are mentally prepared to weild the power it possesses and able to use it in appropriate scenario's. However, because the NRA is so scared of the guns getting taken away, we may never have proper barriers to protect citizens from potential hazards and it is in their hands that they, and they alone, own the bloodshed resulting from their suppression and selfishness.

I am not totally against guns, but who should any citizen own a military grade automatic guns. Especially if it is very easy to get one even if you clearly got mental issues.

  • Guns aren't the problem, well not legal ones anyway for the most part, people and society is the problem. Don't let all this shite blind you into trading your right to protect yourself, your loved ones and your property for security. If the day comes that democracy falls and the only people who have guns are the military and police then you'd wish you had those rights. People died over many centuries to secure your rights, don't shit on that.

Like Western European people especially those who live in Catalonia. Never heard them wanting to own guns?

The NRA is simply too powerful. They can largely kill the career of any republican candidate who opposes them. It's why they own the republican party.

The main problem is that they present a dichotomy where they paint any attempts at logical gun regulations as "trying to take away the 2nd Amendment." That means an environment where you have to pick a side, even if what you really want is somewhere in the middle. They've done a remarkable job of turning the argument in their favor.

Even as someone who has no problem with private gun ownership (I own 3), I think the NRA is a terrible, disgusting organization that cares more about guns than lives.
