I believe he is joking at older Gran Turismo games.

Ok, fair enough.

What's the big deal? It was something lke this in FM6 too and I don't remember anyone complaining about it. Not exactly an important feature.

We weren't close to a Gran Turismo release then, GT and Forza launching around the same time ratchets up the console warz by 2.52 billion percent. Just look at the recent racing game threads.

Maybe each member of the pit crew is unlocked via loot boxes. Hopefully you don't get repeats or your car will end up with 6 tires.

If posting pics on mobile wasnt so god awful on this site I'd insert a thatsdamngood.gif here, bravo.

Time and resources. So the Pit crew got bumped and the Forza team probably concentrated on something else. Either way, as these types of animation are great in the beginning as you play they usually just become tedious and you want to get own with the game. I would love for Turn 10 to talk about this point to see their perspective.

I could do with a 5th as spare on the trunk, but I don't want the 6th on the backseat.

And the video was probably done before GTS had the pit stop video?

Don't really care about this drama (the GT v Forza hatefest became old many years ago), but man the pit stops in those 20 year old games were actually really impressive.

I was impressed as well, and the car model was very good on the F355 or something like that.

Maybe not the future however i would pick a bigger car roster than a fancy pit crew. Maybe thats just my opinin.
After all rendering 700+ cars in a pit stop would take some time. Maybe in FM8.

The car is already rendered by the time the race starts. It's appearance in the pit stop is not a separate computing process.

But I agree I would take more cars over the pit stop crew if that was a choice. Though I don't see why it would have to be.

It isn't like someone would say "fanbase do you want us to expend 1 week doing the pit stop animation or do extra 500 cars in the same time?"

Invisible pit crew is the future.

Not invisible, fully automated. No humans, even invinsible.

Well they could possibly recycle and it isn't like this animation would take much time at all. If you have to get to the pit anyway so having animation won't make it more tedious.

No it wouldn't, it would take setting variables for the pit crew animations and having the animation play  based on the variables the used car provides. It would literally take one coder a day to take an animation set and adjust the keying to fit any vehicle size/type/wheelbase/height, etc, so maybe/hopefully they add it in, in a future update / free DLC, I doubt they would dare make it a paid DLC as others are joking about.

The real issue here is that they actually bothered to put the pit crew in for the trailer, then slapped an "all in-game footage" tag on the video, but the final game shipped with not only much less dramatic pit stops, but nobody in the pit areas at all.

Seems obvious to me that FM7 has taken a huge hit in the graphics/polish department to accomodate 4k/60 on one of the target platforms, previous games focusing on existing platforms did look notably better and more polished, so the only real explanation is that the push for 4k/60 to use as a selling point for the new hardware was done at cost.

Sometimes marketing and P&D forget to talk to one another....

We have had in the past some Marketing Manager on Xbox talking about the exciting exclusives coming to X1 near launch and listing PS4 exclusives as the best one.

Yeah, I remember that snafu!

That does come off as pretty crap. Not a big deal really. I take umbrage with the fact it was shown in the original Forza 7 footage to be something that it clearly isn't, but again, whatever. GT Sport clearly has the presentation edge on Forza 7.

*inserts lootbox jab at Forza 7.

There.

The game has weather conditions, 700 cars, beautiful graphics, a nice decent chase cam... but... it doesn't have pit crews... let's create a fuss about the later and make a thread about it... how hilarious!
