Forums - Politics Discussion - In California, it is no longer a felony to knowingly infect someone with HIV

People need to calm the fawk down. Most of you don't even live in California like I do. I'm cool with it. If your not overly promiscuous, you will be fine, and blood banks can easily test for the virus.

Here you go over reacting blaming babies: https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/health-topics/topics/bt/risks

Here is the quote:
"Viruses and Infectious Diseases

Some infectious agents, such as HIV, can survive in blood and infect the person receiving the blood transfusion. To keep blood safe, blood banks carefully screen donated blood.

The risk of catching a virus from a blood transfusion is very low.

HIV. Your risk of getting HIV from a blood transfusion is lower than your risk of getting killed by lightning. Only about 1 in 2 million donations might carry HIV and transmit HIV if given to a patient.
Hepatitis B and C. The risk of having a donation that carries hepatitis B is about 1 in 205,000. The risk for hepatitis C is 1 in 2 million. If you receive blood during a transfusion that contains hepatitis, you'll likely develop the virus.
Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD). This disease is the human version of Mad Cow Disease. It's a very rare, yet fatal brain disorder. There is a possible risk of getting vCJD from a blood transfusion, although the risk is very low. Because of this, people who may have been exposed to vCJD aren't eligible blood donors."

Wear a condom or two if you're going to have sex with someone you don't know, and even then you're still not 100% protected to something far more shaming than HIV/AIDS--Herpes. I bet most of you don't even get regularly laid, or have multiple partners withing a given year.

Such babies...

Oh, someone with a brain, welcome.

Here we first overreact, then we throw our shitty agenda and then we think, most don't get to the last part though.

Makes me wonder how many of these people are still very young and ignorant of how fucked up the world really is. ^_-

I vote for that, many here are not that young anymore

LOL, then sheltered?

Anyways, since we are in the topic of HIV. I thought I would post this up. It's a 3 years old, but then again, thats pretty recent when we talk about gathering information on a national level:

*Claps* and you have no problem with him describing Herpes and AIDS as shaming? How "nice".

His points about blood banks testing donated blood for transmissible diseases have been discussed by the same people you two are insulting. But go ahead, continue to high-five each other for the valuable condom tips you've provided us.

I don't understand the point you are trying to make, but I'll bite.  Condoms aren't 100% protective against HIV. You should know better.

I'd also like to add that neither HIV nor Herpes are shaming, and that some people completely loath condoms and they'd like to know if the person they're sleeping with was ever tested positive for HIV.

I thought everyone knew double bagging doesn't work and actually makes the condoms more likely to fail from the friction of them rubbing together.  Sorry wanted to responded to his statement but was too lazy to find the post.  I'll just add that on top of your input.

"Medical professionals (like OB/GYN's, nurse practitioners, etc.) caution that wearing two condoms together can increase the friction between the condoms during sex. This can make them more likely to rip or tear."
