Well, just adds more reason to love my body pillow instead rather than finding a mate.

As a gay man, I'm no fan of this legislation (The sad thing is I tend to like a decent amount of legislation that comes from California). I already have a higher chance of attaining HIV in my lifetime. I understand previous legislation did not account for risk assessment or rather an individual was on HIV medication but this is just crazy. Indefensible. Not to mention, California did this before classifying stealthing as rape (which is like salt poured on a wound).
So essentially killing someone is now a slap on the wrist? Not everyone has the means to cover an HIV cocktail the rest of their lives.

I don't think all states think that the feelings of someone matters more than the life of someone else.
This is the first time I heard of this law, and I just came back after finding out that elections here in California are now moved to March instead of June, and that honestly makes me more worried about that than the HIV law.
Proud to be a Californian.
Hiv is not a death sentence anymore... but this is not good... esp with the current changes in the healthcare... it would fall to pre existing condition if they make more changes which will balloon the price of their treatment
Californians are a retarded bunch. I can say this, speaking as a proud Californian myself.
The GAF thread on this is downright disgusting. Multiple people in there saying it's ok to not tell people because the chances of getting HIV from a person taking treatment is "practically zero" or whatever technical speak the CDC said on the matter. Plus, hey, you know, it doesn't kill you any more*!
* - so long as you can afford the "HIV cocktail" you have to take daily without missing doses. oh, and I hope the drugs work on you, there aren't many alternatives. oh and I hope you like frequent doctor visits to make sure your viral load stays low.
