Forums - Movies & TV - Blade Runner 2049 has disappointing opening weekend of $32-35 million

Nichie fanbase is the answer.

It needed a black trans paring up with a lesbian asian woman to get the mainstream media support behind it.

That pairing makes the best of movies.

Wasn't Ghost Story well received?

It's an excellent movie. I watched it yesterday. The movie has some amazing sound direction. Holy shit.

That perked up my ears. The sound design is what saved the new Tron movie for me.

I'll watch it at home though without distractions. The only question being, will I bother to go 4K for this movie or stick to blu-ray. Sound is the same anyway. Hmm source format Arriraw 3.4K, it's not a true 4K movie anyway.

I'm going to disagree.  I think the original theatrical cut is the one to watch.  Ridley Scott fucked up the later versions with his idea that the main character was a replicant.  This was not the intent of the writer of the movie, and Harrison Ford disagreed with it as well.  It makes the whole move make less sense.

Wait, so now I'm NOT supposed to watch the final cut? Does the sequel actually follow the events of the first film, are the endings different on the different cuts? If so which ending does the sequel carry on from? I'm gonna' assume the theatrical release? This is like when a game has multiple endings, I never know which one to pick! :P

The final cut is the best received version.... but if you have enough time, watch the movie 7 times in a row with all 7 versions. You can thank me later.

Villeneuve favourite cuts are the Theatrical Cut (the first cut) and the Final Cut (the last cut), he said he was inspired by both, I would recomend the Final Cut over the theatrical one though.

Well by hipsters maybe. It is one of the worst things i have ever seen.

Thank you

I thought it was good, definitely deserves more but it is a niche franchise and concept. The original has cult status not mass appeal status after all.

Hmm, pie.

It's almost as if audiences actively seek to create the worst movie market by seeing awful films in droves and skipping the occasional gem that gets a wide release.
