As a fan of the kaiju genre I really liked the first film. While this doesn't look quite as awesome, it could still be good for some mindless cheesy fun.

I was at the panel today where they debuted the trailer. The energy was great. And the cast and director said all the right things.

I'm just a little worried. Pacific Rim is a silly idea elevated by del Toro's genius. Not sure if DeKnight can accomplish the same.

What happened to the first movies lead?

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

Looks great from the trailer at least. I hope they manage to convey the same feeling of weight that the first film had with the kaiju and the jaegers. Also, can someone buy the people coming up with the names of films a dictionary. Uprising is one of the least inventive titles I can think of to attach to a movie like this.

Look Amazing the trailer :D

Yeah I am a bit concerned how it will fare without Del Toro in the driver's seat, but apparently he is still producing.

Watched it and... It feels more like Transformers than Pacific Rim.
At least on this trailer it completely lacks the atmosphere the original did, the robots feels way less imponent and more gimminick-ey, but at least the monster looks cool.
I'm honestly dissapointed =/

It does seem a bit of a step down from the first one, but I'm not writing it off just yet. Could still be good for a good dose of cheese in the same way as the 70s giant monster/mech stuff the series is based on.

Should still be a good dumb action movie.

Although, guven the time elapsed since the first film I'm surprised they didn't try to tie it into the Monsterverse. They had suggested as crossover with Godzilla before.

Im not fussed, i have low standards for mech flicks due to how few there are so this looks fun.

The first movie let me down, I'm not expecting much from this one either... I guess I'll still see it though.
