Forums - Sales Discussion - Prediction: Gran Turismo Sport will outsell all Xbox One Forza Games Combined

Good prediction right?

Yes, good prediction dude 100 43.10%

Prediction is shit 111 47.84%

150 cars 14 6.03%

4 year dev 7 3.02%

Total:232

It possible if they don't release another GT in the next 3 years and heavily bundle it like previous Gran Turismos.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Doubt it, I think critics might crucify this game.

Critics and people in general weren't too nice with GT5 yet the game sold 11 millions. By crucify, are you expecting sub 70 metacritic or something?

GT has always been a sales cannon, it should.
Personally I wil not contribute to this number since I am buying both these games and Love them both altough I have a slight biassed towards Forza because I have played it much more the last few years and GT6 was an eternity ago.

Always missed that GT game for my Vita I really wanted that to happen!

Naaahhh. This isn't a full typical GT release. Plus, I don't think the racing genre is all that healthy anymore.

I doubt this one. Id like to be proven wrong though. I know a lot of GT purists that arent interested in this one due to the online focus.

GREAT

I don't get why people use the excuse that these sales will only be possible if GTS is bundled, and act like that is some kind of asterisk. If anything, that's more significant for Sony, because it's getting a console into somebody's house and more chance to make money on other games instead of profiting on just the initial game sale. Bundles are made for a reason, and when a game like Gran Turismo is used, it sells like hotcakes. That's still brand strength.

BTW, come Christmas, I will be getting a second PS4 just for this game, because I gave my brother and his son my old PS4 (begrudgingly, but I had to focus on a new job, lol). And yes, I will be getting the GTS bundle just like I got the GT3 bundle for PS2.

Forza Horizon 3 already sold 2.5 million by the end of 2016, you are obviously forgetting about digital sales.

Forza died? Last I checked the FH3 still makes it on the best selling game of the month of September in the UK... ONE YEAR AFTER RELEASE!!!

Maybe these "poor" X1 sales are probably because some are waiting for the Xbox One X?

Why do you defend Xbox  every single thread?

Why do you have an irrelevant question?

Proud to be a Californian.

Yes that is a bold prediction, me likes it.

That is true, perhaps better wording would be "by far the highest selling GT game ever"

Though to be honest my 13 million prediction included digital and physical, but now I see I would need to estimate and add Forza's digital sales for each title, add them up and then insert them into the thread if I wanted to stick to that. So yes 13 million physical.

you got me

I'm very doubtfull it will reach Gran Turismo 3 Sales. GT3 was a groundbreaking title for the time and it didn't have any real competition on any system.

GTS o the other hand is just an incremental upgrade over previous titles, also the concept of a racing sim with a huge variety of real cars is quite common nowdays and there are more avaliable options for that audience. I'm expecting sales more in line with GT5.

Sales in line with GT5 would be 12M, it would be a lot and still make the prediction of OP right.

Actually sold 12M =] And I love it despise the "professional critics"... the girl that gave it a 4 because she doesn't understand the point of racing - going in circles.

As if all Forza games haven't been bundled to death as well.

In the GT cases (can't say about Forza because I don't play close attention to MS) all bundles released had other options on the market at the same time, so people choose to buy GT bundle so I would say that it's much more GT selling consoles than consoles selling GT situation on those bundles...
