Forums - Gaming Discussion - Hate how MS killed their 1st party, and then waste millions trying to keep PUBG off PS4

Will u buy an Xbox for PUBG

yes 43 12.36%

no 237 68.10%

maybe 3 0.86%

give me Scalebound! 65 18.68%

It's just disturbing how this company killed their 1st party and now use their funds to prevent a PC game from coming to a rival console platform.

Timed exclusive deals like this are the worst, most anti consumer thing in the industry. They're now even trying to extend their shitty deal.

Why cant MS just make new IP and sell it to us, instead of preventing other peoples games coming out on all platforms.

Sad how they're acting like PUBG is their baby, with their execs celebrating the sales milestones as if they accomplished it, probably offering the billions to Bluehole as we speak.

IMO MS has become redundant in the industry, they haven't had a positive contribution in the industry since the og Xbox, they're no longer a useful competitor to Sony and are just making life more difficult to playas on other platforms instead of trying to sell them their product. The Windows store is awful too, so yeah, I feel MS is redundant at this point.

If there's anything we've learned about MS this gen, they scarcely commit to anything long-term. They cancel projects they hype up. They put Minecraft on the 3DS and the Vita.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Do we need another thread about this?

Anyways, Sony and Nintendo also evil yada yada yada nuanced opinion #238679

Microsoft's first party output wouldn't even be that bad had it been what they promised. But they cancelled so many projects and so many of their exclusives ended up shite. I would still have an Xbox One if Halo 5 was what Halo 2-Reach were, a phenomenon in the games industry.

Don't tell them that. It doesn't fit the narrative.

Why always the "Sony Too!" narrative? But yeah, games like SFV going exclusive are dumb as hell.

Haven't Sony not paid for timed exclusivity, and even full exclusivity which is the same thing but in fact worse for consumers. It's just one of the many things these companies do in order to succeed, nothing we can do but accept it. If there is no reason to own one platform over the other or both then how are they going to sell these boxes.

There is a plus side to competition but we should remember there is also a downside. I wouldn't put any blame towards Microsoft without doing the same to Sony or even Nintendo in certain cases. This is nothing new.

PUBG is a big and popular game, no wonder microsoft want it so badly, it's defintely a system seller and even without PS4 it's doing record breaking performance on steam and good enough overall without it right now. Sony can't always win. With how well the PS4 is doing over the Xbox One, no wonder Microsoft is trying to make some big plays to keep up.

(Yawn)

@CGI how did this post bothered you? The other 2 mods didn't find this post any problems or else they would've replied to this. So therefore I can make a post like this.

I can argue that full-time third-party exclusives are way more anti-consumer thing in the industry. Paying independent devs to keep their game off the rival platform forever is even worse.

As for the topic - I don't care about PUBG. I can't understand all the hype about this game at all so this game can't make up my mind about buying or not buying specific platform which it is on.

Eh, the 360 was pretty great, if not a very faulty console. It helped Sony get their shit together and pull their heads out of their asses so there's a contribution.

I do agree that both companies, but in this case MS, gotta stop with the time exclusive BS. Either make it fully exclusive or not.

SFV wouldn't exist without Sony's money.
