As I said in the other thread:
As it should've released.

You think a game that came out in February should have released with DLC that isn't even out yet in October? 8 months later?

Nope! I am the kind of person that never buys DLC. I always wait for complete editions whenever feasible because I am not made of time, or money. So, if a game comes out complete day one, like a few do, I just buy it then and there.

That means very little. You said "as it should have released". Not "now I will buy it".

One is suggesting they delay the game 8 months. Another is saying is effectively saying "and now I can get it for cheaper" or "with free content".

Also you say you aren't made of time.. but you just waited 8 months to get this game. That is a lot of time..

I am not made of time, to say that I start a game, complete it, and leave it. There's a lot of games out there, and I don't like returning periodically because new DLC is out.

You're right about my motives, though.

yup was waiting for this inevitable edition to release well that or when the game inevitable went for 20 on a psn sale

As usual, so glad I bought it and let it sit in the pile for so long the complete edition is announced before I've played it. Ah, well. I'll buy this and gift the original.

Yeah, I'm in the same situation and that's what I plan to do lol, bought the game earlier this year on sale, can't complain really since it was half price, but still not played it yet, think I'll wait for this and give my unopened copy to someone as a Christmas present, lol :P

I got mine for $20 off, so at least we didn't pay full price. :)

nice, waiting is always worth it for these games

box art is what i would expect of one of those cheaply made rip-offs you get in the Middle East or wherever. could of been much better

I actually really like it. The artwork reminds me a little of some of the old book covers I have, particularly for fantasy or sci-fi novels.

The detail in the meadow, the flowers and the cloudy mountains catches the eye.

Each to their own.

I love the box art, actually. I agree it looks like a sci-fi novel, though it does make Aloy look a bit like a mountain giant.

What you mean how would they do it? Like they used to do in the gen before and on PC etc back in the day lol. I should not have to understand anything when this model worked in the past. Also i do not have to condone it as all it is in another money grab to charge full price, hence why I said this is why I don't bother with launch games anymore for my PS4.

This practice is what turned me of from destiny. I think they released 3 versions in the end which is BS.

Okay, then lets circle back around to why on Earth would they do that? Why would they incure these huge unnecessary costs so that a handful of people who plan on selling a game a year after launch can get $15 instead of $10?

Also, It's not a money grab, and it's not even full price. This isn't for you, it's for people who haven't picked up the game yet. Do you also bitch and moan when games go in sale because it hurts the resale value of your already terrible investment?

I don't plan to sell the game later. What forces you to sell the game is that you have no option to buy just the expansions. No one will buy the vanilla game because they will want the expansions too, so essentially it becomes worthless as resell value because why buy an inferior product when a better one is out?

Now I am stuck with a vanilla game, what if I want to play the expansions? I need to purchase the full game with them. Why can't I jsut buy the expansiosn on their own as an option?

With Destiny the other issue was even if you did upgrade to the full game and expansions,  some users compained they had to reinstall the full thing and that they lost some of their equipment because it was removed from that install.  That to me is poor developement. If you could just install the expansion your original effort would not be wiped clean.

I have no problem with game prices dropping in general, I have a problem with rebuying something that is not needed when I already have it just to get the expansion.

What? Why would you have to buy the whole game again? The Frozen Wilds will be available on it's own. I bought the collectors edition of Horizon and I have the DLC pre ordered. You certainly don't need to buy the complete edition to get the DLC.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

That's a pretty badass boxart. I'm gonna need to go back to this game after I finish Zelda.
