My comment in the OP:

'Not great but I don't think Nintendo need this just yet.'

This has nothing to do with how simple minded nintendo fans are

Did it ever get restocked on Amazon UK?

On gaf they are saying not yet. EA didnt expect this to sell that much im guessing

I remember I had a discussion with someone here that said that switch could become FIFA's new main place to play. I guess I was right

Also, wasn't this supposed to be a good port? I read here that fans were pleased at least

When you look at only 1% figure things go out the window. If a game for example hits first place on any chart does that mean it's a success? No not necessarily.

That said compare fifa sales to other nintendo releases (both first party/third party), also consider that this is still the UK. Install base for switch is what? 400k in UK i think, how much did ps4 fifa sell week 1 when ps4 launched (on gaf i read around 25k?)

And the major points to add is this is still a dominated market for xbox/sony that fifa owners have boughten for years and years. Were they supposebly suppose to just "switch" over?

And calling nintendo fans simple minded just because in the "uk" fifa didnt sell (ill guess 50k based on your reaction?) That well... Your not regularly bashing nintendo at all which is good but when you do sometimes you sound ridiculous...

Who the hell called Nintendo fans simple minded?

"This only shows us that Nintendo fans are still rather single minded in what they purchase for their consoles."

Just WOW. Single minded isn't a negative thing.

I need fucking glasses! That said, it doesnt really change what you were saying (though simple minded sounds alot worse i think) Ill let this go, dont want to derail anymore. Disagree to Disagree

FIFA is a game people like to play at home sitting on the couch with friends. I'm not surprised it didn't sell well on Switch. Doom and Wolfenstein 2 will be more interesting to watch.

Well that's fair enough but I'm not having a go at Nintendo here. I said in the OP it doesn't matter and just pointed out it shows (to me at least) that Nintendo fans are 'single minded'. In other words, they LOVE their Nintendo games.

A handful were pleased, but several pointed out that it missing features was going to hamstring it in the extreme.  Especially since EA was hyping up The Journey as a key feature.  Add to that they bungled some of the online features and stripped out features that were in no way tied to the engine change and the stigma was going to dog this game to the grave, there was never an iota of doubt in my mind.  Perception matters, more than most people around here seem to think.  I've seen a much better reception for the 2k18 port that has some technical snags but is feature complete.

Also, EA did next to nothing to promote Fifa on switch either.

It was franky laughable they thought this effort would make Fifa 18 a must have Switch title.

Saying something like "nintendo fans rather buy other/only first party games" would be a better choice of words. But fine, i didn't mean to get offensive.

I want a clarification (since I do find it a bit difficult to understand).

Do you mean the poor sales of FIFA 18, or the success of the game itself?

The former implies that Nintendo needs FIFA 18 to succeed, and the latter implies the opposite (for the time being, at least).

EDIT: Never mind, this post (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8575485) answered my question, and it is the latter.

That quote about how FIFA 18 would become a "must have" title alongside Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Zelda Breath of the Wild was absolutely hilarious from the very beginning.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

All I'm saying is, it would be nice for Nintendo fans to start buying more multiplats because it means more third party support in the future, but it doesn't matter right now because the Switch is flying off shelves and Nintendo have stacks of exclusives. I would assume that as the Switch starts to sell to a broader demographic, the choice of software will broaden too, giving third parties enough financial reason to fully support the Switch.
