Forums - PC Discussion - Steamworld Dig and SW Battlefront Season Pass are free on Origin

Thought you guys should know this. Most PC gamers don't use Origin so just giving a heads up. Add them to your library!

I'm playing Steamworld Dig and its alright, but I think it would be more up the ally for some of you who enjoy side scrollers. Its free anyways.

And here I was rushing to get free stuff, only to notice I owned it already. I take it this is not very new?

They don't give new stuff for free. Still worth checking out for most people.

Free stuff from EA, keep dreaming.

Origin gives free stuff every month no? I remember I started to download them every month (like Theme hospital) but did not continue downloading them.

I meant this giveaway, not its content. I know for sure I haven't bought either (on Origin). It's especially clear in the case of Battlefront Season Pass because I don't even own the game. I also don't remember claiming any free stuff on Origin in at least a few days. Obviously letting people know about this is good anyway, I was just curious as to whether this was already relatively old news.

EA gives away free games on Origin all the time. It's called 'On the House'. That's probably how I got most of the games I have on Origin. There's much I can say against EA, but they do give genuinely free stuff regularly, and that's a pretty big plus for them.

Glad someone can see beyond their hatred for EA when do something right. I think what they do with On The House is commendable and in a way makes Origin better than Steam.

Considering that Steamworld dig is a game from 2013, it's surprising to see EA offering it for free this late, same goes for the SWBF season pass (which was heavily reduced last year). That said, I bought the SWBF season pass and was met with disappointment as I couldn't find many if any matches with the bought pass itself.

Great that they decided to make old content free I guess, but as for the season pass, it's a wasted effort with a practically dead community.

I also don't consider Origin to be superior to Steam, as EA still hosts far higher prices for their games, still lacks the library of releases that Steam has and has less sales compared to Steam, let alone GoG and GMG (hell I've seen GMG having better sales for Origin games than Origin itself).

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

I said Origin is better in this way, but on the whole I agree Steam is better. Sales, servers and variety of games make it better but I want Valve to take notice of this.

EA even gives away free games on other platforms, I remember them giving NFS MW and PVZ GW free on PlayStation platforms. More publishers should do this on all platforms and services with older games!
