Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Future Games You Would Like To See On The Nintendo Switch

Is everyone sick of me asking for a new Punch-Out!! yet?

But a new DK Country game, WarioWare Microgame collection, new Kid Icarus, and from Capcom, Ace Attorney Games, and from Level 5, new Professor Layton games would really hit the spot as well.

I mean, my main candidates are going to be basically the same games I wanted on Wii/Wii U. But:

1. A glorious HD Wave Race game, with advanced water graphics/physics and expanded tracks/modes.

2. A glorious HD F-Zero game that is NOT as retarded hard as Sega made GX on Gamecube.

3. A WORTHY Pikmin sequel, that is not a watered down affair with key elements (multiple save files, camera zoom, manual swarming) removed.

4. A 3D Mario game that actually lets players, for basically the first time ever, run around a massive 3D Mushroom Kingdom, no magic paintings, no other gimmicks, just pure old school Mario, with representations of the lands from SMB3, and maybe even a condensed representation of Dinosaur Island.

5. A GOOD Star Fox game, along the same gameplay and quality lines as SF64, ZERO tacked on gimmicks, just Star Fox gameplay, no BS, with HD era graphics/sound, and more levels than the previous entries. And it wouldn't kill them to make an all-new story, not just another rehash.

6. It's likely never going to happen, but I have been hoping forever for a Soul Calibur vs. Samurai Shodown fighter, either in SC 3D or SS 2D, either way. Done RIGHT, it would be incredible.

7. A 3D, HD remake of FFIV, my favorite rpg ever. I know it's gotten the remake treatment on DS, but I'd like to see it in full blown (non-chibi) HD, with a good art style. Failing that, a 3D (non-chibi) remake of FFVI.

8. Another 3D Zelda, taking everything BotW did right, tighten it, improve it, and then add back in other elements that were more or less missing, such as the roll move, some form of more traditional dungeons, etc. I love the open nature of BotW, I just would like to see it expanded upon, and more "Zelda-ish", if that makes sense. I would really love to see them expand upon the manual jumping ability, add in some wall-jump type of ability maybe, use the jumping to deepen the combat experience, etc. And as a last note, I would really be for them bringing back the Zelda II style "leveling" system, which I always thought was neat.

9. It goes without saying, but a Mario Kart 9 that already has ACTUAL each-man-for-themselves Battle Mode arenas/modes in the game from the get go. I could honestly take or leave MK8s "gravity" racing or whatever. I'd personally be in favor of stripping BACK the gimmicks/excess power ups, and make it more of a stripped-down, refined version of what MK64 was. Like not completely, just more Mario Kart, less fluff.

10. Although I am not excited for a new entry, and would personally rather see Sakurai move on and make another IP again, preferably his own, IF they're going to make another Smash, which seems almost inevitable, I would like to see them actually put in some effort and include SOME form of real Adventure Mode again. I for one thought the SSE mode in Brawl was awesome. And for the love of Popo, please bring back the Ice Climbers. And maybe give it an actual subtitle again.

11. It seems like a no-brainer that they already would have done by now, but I think the best way they could ever really do a Mario vs. Sonic game, would be to make a Diddy Kong Racing type of affair. And don't just have it be Sonic vs. Mario, have it be Sega vs. Nintendo, basically kind of like the Sonic All-Star Racing games, but this time with characters from various Sega AND Nintendo franchises, with tracks and music inspired from both as well. That would literally sell itself, so long as it plays well. I know I'd buy it.

12. Provided that it's at least as good, if not hopefully much better than Skyrim, it would be nice if whenever they actually put out Elder Scrolls VI, that Switch not only got a port of it, but a GOOD port of it.

13. And as a fanciful throwaway, I honestly thought that Scalebound looked like it had a lot of promise. It won't happen, but it would be nice if Nintendo somehow picked it up, and Platinum retrofitted it (so to speak) for Switch hardware. I think if they refined and streamlined it, it could both work on Switch, and be a really good game.

Also, a Final Fantasy VI remake with Octopath Traveler's art style.

Edit: Final Fantasy V too

Open World MMO Balloon Fight

Make it happen Nintendo.

Persona 1-5
SMT Nocturne

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

For ports:

Persona, SMT games are already on Nintendo so it's about time for mainline Persona to come too.
Yakuza, 1 & 2 got versions on the Wii U so why not.
Tales & Final Fantasy, the more JRPGs the better.
Danganronpa and other VNs, Switch is perfect for these types of games.

Exclusives:

Pokemon.
Animal Crossing, comfiest game in existence next to 4X games.
F-Zero, I want my online F-Zero game dammit.
Spiritual successor to the Mother series, a new IP with the spirit of Earthbound & Mother 3.

Platinum has already proven their worth so it would be nice to see a new IP from them, perhaps Nintendo could also team up with From Software for an Action RPG.

They really need to get a Mario Maker onto the Switch.
