All focused on preparing you for multiplayer gameplay, no story mode, but you can play a lot solo.

Could also be that they lost interest in the brand, last gen my primary gaming machine was a X360 which I have around 150 retail games for but yeah... as soon as the X1 was revealed it really just killed any levels of "fandom" I can feel to recommend the Xbox brand to anyone who isn't a gamer asking me for advice on which console to buy for Xmas and such.

I appreciate that some people still like certain aspects about the store and console, but really in 2017 I would always recommend people consider any alternative to the Xbox brand as it stands right now but go back a few years on here and you'll see my threads about sales on xbox live and such, but yeah, reveal X1 and then their PR after that was just despicable.

Bingo. I think the former big presence of all 3 fandoms on the site had to do with how great Gen 7 was in terms of sales. First Nintendo was dominating sales, then Xbox picked up, then PS also picked up, then Ninty slowed down, then Ninty sales fell off a cliff (3DS initially, WiiU), but the last transformation point was the release of the PS4 and Xbox One.

Since that point, there's been nothing interesting in terms of sales. PS4 dominating, Xbox doing bad-okayish, WiiU sales super low and 3DS doing fine. The XBO reveal certainly hurt the Xbox fandom, with most "non-aligned" users that just liked the 360 for what it had to offer rather than brand loyalty moving on to other plaftorms. The rest of the die-hard MS fandom got so much shit it wasn't even funny, so it was inevitable that we'd end up without an MS presence on here. I've even seen one of the users you listed talk crap on kowenicki (one of this site's Xbox pillars) even on Vizioneck, which is pretty sad to be honest.

Many pillars on all sides started frequenting this site less and less ever since the sales became so monotone. Many prominent Sony fans also left the site (Again, some of their own accord and some were banned for flaming/flamebaiting) for Vizioneck.

Having a single fandom dominate a forum doesn't create much room for heated discussion, so that's why we still have 2 major fandoms here

I guess JayWood leaving the site also affected the Xbox community here, as the new XBE never had the volume of discussion that the original one had.

Multiple is fun

I play Nintendo and Sony in equal amounts. PC is for indies and exclusives that I can't get on PS4 like Civ VI, Divinity II, and Total War.
