Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Half a year later... (Switch Fails Revisited)

I had a feeling most of that hysteria was bullshit, or at least way exhagurated.. I've had virtually no problems whatsoever with my Switch. The rare expection (which was really my own fault anyway from the rough treatment of carrying it around with a bunch of other items in a backpack), is a slight scratch in the corner of the screen. Luckily it's subtle enough where it's barely noticable and I've obtained a screen protector since then anyway. Just wish I had in the first place.. But the joycon disconnect thing? Total BS, I've NEVER had an issue with that, though I tend to sit closeish to the console.

I've had the Switch for a few months already and, so far, I have had no problems in regards to the conditioning of the system. I mostly play on table top mode. Probably the only minor issue is the left Joy-Con feels a little loose attached to the grip (probably due to me putting a lot of pressure while playing ARMS with Joy-Con and grip), but not really that big of a deal since I only feel it when I'm actually trying to feel if its loose.

I think my biggest issue is that, when I unplug and move my dock, it doesn't always put the Switch in console mode, and I have to fiddle with it for a while to get it working again. I haven't quite figured out WHY it happens, but its never permanent, and won't be as much of an issue when I get the cheaper, $45 dock.

It also couldn't find an internet connection when I first received it in the hospital. Thankfully, I was able to connect it to a mobile hotspot for the first update.

I also occasionaly have issues getting the joycons to sync but its nothing like the left joycon issue people were having. On rare occasions it just can't find them, in mobile or console mode. I had one occasion where it wouldn't recognize them at ALL in portable mode. I think I fixed it with a reboot. More recently, I've noticed that the left joycon doesn't always center.

Overall, though, it's worked pretty near flawlessly.

Judging by the first page here alone, seems like the problems were really there, although not enough (at least yet) to get the onwers mad.
I remember when I was going to buy the PS4 Slim all those overheating talks going on, even people I never talked to telling me to not buy it, but I went and bought it and despite it's actually hot to the touch (as is the OG PS4 exactly the same, so is the Pro) I've yet to have a single problem with it. Or with my SS PS3 people told me was loud, overheating and ugly, and it isn't. (But I'm looking at you, fucking Ubisoft and Child of Light freezing it when trying to access Uplay... >.>)

There is always problems with new hardware but usually people still always overstimate occassional bigger, serious failures than what it actually gets, except some few stuff as rrod.

Yeah. I'm trying not to be one of those "it didn't happen to me so it must not exist" people. It didn't happen to me, though!

No dramas my end either. All working fine and as it should.

The one problem I had was one time when the Joy con kept de-syncing. But after a update everything was working again.

No AIDS, just cancer...

Aside from a few games crashing, not really any problems here.

I knew that video and people's reactions were blowing things out of proportion so none of that stopped me from getting my Switch. The only widespread issue is the lackluster Wifi, my Switch isn't an exception, but otherwise it has been fine.

I don't understand why people don't buy screen protectors with the console. You're shelling out a bunch for the console, spend the extra few bucks and get a bloody protector, you're an idiot if you don't.

My Switch is either in my hands, in the dock, or in it's case, and I've never ruined the screen of any handheld device, so I have no need for one.

I accidentally put on the joy con straps backwards one time. It was my fault for being such a dumb ass but it was still a pain in the ass to pull off. I also don't know how people are scratching their Switches. You would have to slam the console into the dock to cause it any damage because the plastic that is in front of it is pushed upwards.
