Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Just turned back my 100th snes customer

Was lucky enough to snag one on ThinkGeek after spamming the refresh button on various sites and checking nowinstock.net religiously for an hr and a half lol. I'm stoked, itching to play it now! The coolest part is half the games I've never even played before, and most of the remaining half are some of my favorite games on the SNES, if not of all time.

Crazy how a glorified emulator playing 25 year old games is so covetted and selling like hotcakes seemingly. Just a testament to how great many of those games were and still are, and just how well they stand the test of time.

I'd get in line too if I knew buying one meant I could flip it online for 3x the price a week later.

Only one person wanted a product care plan,  so most of the rest were going to Amazon.  Two out of the 28 gave to charity. Misers!

I've purchased 20ish consoles for personal use over my 37 year lifetime.  I've never purchased a protection plan.   Those things are not good for the consumer, and should not be purchased unless you're extremely careless with your electronics.  I've had only one problem that required a system replacement - the disk drawer won't open 99% of the time on my original XB1, after about 2 years of use.  I bought a XB1S to replace it, and now use the original as a digital-only device on another TV.  If I had been buying protection plans for all of those systems, I'd have lost over $1000 lifetime.

Just went to a walmart. They had about 20 in line. I believe store only got like 10 or so because cut off happened pretty damn quick. Looks like another NES Classic repeat. I'm going to try toys r us which opens at 10 am and after that fuck it. I'm not putting bullshit effort into getting something that should be easily available.  If this next attempt fails then I'll just wait till they can actually stock the damn thing.  It gives me a little hope that spurge's store is supposedly getting weekly shipments but I'm not going to keep my fingers crossed.

Pah, product care plan. THose are rip-offs and just pure profit for the store selling them. I never buy insurance/product care/ect for my electronics.

If anything is going to go wrong, 99% of the time it will be within the manufacturers own warranty time.

Just because most didn't want the stupid protection plan doesn't mean they are going to resell.
