1. potholer54 who recently took on Steven Crowder (YouTuber who's been building up a nice echochamber for himself as of late), PragerU, and Patrick "glyphosate is safe to drink" Moore. Highly recommend his channel!

*Shameless Self-Plug: My channel (Retro Revelations) is small potatoes, but some of the videos are pretty decent.

Pretty much just Nintendo when they post directs. Other than that, I only use YouTube for tutorials, how tos, and stuff like that.

I have issues with depression if I feel like I am wasting time, and with YouTube that starts to hit at about the 5 minute mark of any of the 99.95% of garbage videos out there. Like, if I watch one of those channels where someone else play video games, it depresses me that A) I am not playing the game myself, B) I am not doing something to make me money, C) I am not educating myself on skills to aid in my productivity in ways to make money.

Maybe it is a German thing.

Steven Crowder didn't even show up to the climate change debate after how hard potholer54 tried to get around his time constraints to schedule it. Ever since, people have made fun of him with the #CowerwithCrowder hashtag.

Just posting one.... and she deserves more views...

Hmm, that's a unique perspective..

I actually made a youtube channel and tried to make money off it as I am a youtube "partner" or whatever they're calling it these days, but after about 6 months or so I kinda saw the writing on the wall that despite a lot of work I was getting very little out of it so I quit. Might pick it up again some day though.

I usually end up getting lost in Youtube and binge watching it, but then again I rarely watch regular cable TV as I find most of that stuff to be garbage so it kinda evens out. There's a ton of garbage on Youtube too of course, though at least there's a TON more to choose from and much more diverse perspectives and styles, so chances are you can find something you like. I just look at Youtube as the next evolution of watching TV.

I'm with you in that I have very little patience/tolerance for just watching people play games and mindlessly commenting on them ala Pewdiepie though. I can't help but think, "well why the hell aren't I just playing this myself?" When it comes to game related stuff on Youtube I usually only watch stuff like Nintendo directs/news/reviews or if it's people just playing games it at least has to be interesting/funny/well produced like AVGN.

1. Somecallmejohnny - I trust this man with video game reveiws more than I trust any and all other gaming reviews and websites. He is always on his game with in-depth, detailed, nonbias reviews (except for when it comes to Metroid and Smash Bros. Because he's a huge fanboy for both franchises.) And his presentation is hilarious and entertaining!
