I don't know if anyone remembers the news of the horror video game director (or something) of some big horror franchise (again, can't remember which, but I think it might have been resident evil or silent hill) who joined Nintendo sometime around February. 

But anyway, I think it seems very likely that he is probably part of the new team working on Metroid Prime 4.

Anyways I recall way back in the day, probably before or after Prime 3 people were talking about wanting a horror themed Metroid game in the sense of Aliens and felt the game would be perfect for it. I think it would be great but I can't say Samus would have much fear after the shit she's been through. She was brave as a child due to the events of her loss. I don't think Prime 4 will be horror themed though, at least not the majority of it if it really does end up focusing on Samus and Sylux's terrible, very bad, no good relationship.

I'm actually curious on one thing. How would people feel about rotating gameplay between Samus and Sylux like Halo 2 does where both characters are at separate locations with their own missions that are relevant to the overall story of the game?

Bethesda is making it. Releases for PS5 and XBOX ONE X ONE X in 2020.

If we're lucky, Nintendo will completely cancel the Metroid series in favor of a Hanafuda video game.
