Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Bethesda: Doom on Switch Runs at 30FPS, Multiplayer Download is 9 GB, more.

looks ok, i still prefer a 32gb card with all the content, maybe the price is a factor.

a Bethesda spokesperson confirmed that Doom runs at 30 frames-per-second on Switch, adding:

"The game and rendering technology underlying Doom is extremely scalable. In bringing Doom to Switch, we targeted outstanding visuals at a solid 30 fps and by maintaining a consistent 30 fps, the experience remains consistently fluid and smooth. We’ve been thrilled with the feedback that Doom is among the very best looking and performing games on Switch."

Bethesda also clarified that while it is the publisher for the game, Panic Button, working with id Software, is actually developing the port.

Finally, Bethesda said that the game's single player campaign and arcade mode "fit on a 16 GB cartridge," but that the multiplayer mode for the game, which will have to be downloaded after purchase, comes in at 9 GB.

DOOM looks to be a great Switch port, just Switch is not necessarily the kind of console to complement DOOM.

So much for third party support.

You really expected this to be 60fps?

Is this a joke?

Well, I wish that they just went with a 32GB cart then, as that would have made everything on the cart.

Awesome looking game. Whybis everyone whining about 30fps. Looks fine to me.

Not really, but I hoped Bethesda would at least try to work around the framerate issue. The moment people see the Switch version has half the FPS they're gonna throw it in the dumpster.

How would they reach 60 fps without greatly compromising textures or resolution? This version looks like a decent compromise, otherwise we wouldn't have the game. Plus, if they compensate it by adding a couple of trinkets like motion controll aiming and camera, I think people won't mind the framerate.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Nonesense! Most people who play games dont give two fucks about fps as long as its playable.

They did everything they could.

They didnt just scale stuff down, they used a new engine & custom suited everything so it runs as well as possible on the switch.

The only *dick* move is the 16gb stick & forced 9gb dl patch to be able to play multiplayer mode (to save on cartridge costs).

This is what good 3rd party support looks like.

If this doesnt sell its because the switch users let them down.

Yeah of course Nintendo fans don't give a fuck. They're used to playing games at 640p at 30fps
