Depends on what you use it for. It is not suitable for attaching a PC on it due to burn ins. Same as gaming.
They still have the same flaws as in the beginning:

Lower brightness compared to LCD and decreasing further with time.
Low lifecycle
Burn in
Higher latency in regard to non oled.

But it's perfect for watching movies in a dark room.

These still keep me away from them. I don't think the tech is 100% ready yet. And TVs are usually long time investiments, I usually stay more than 5 years with one. However, they are already solving the lifecycle issue.

Anyway, I think it will be the number 1 option soon. For smartphones they already are, I don't think I would even consider a LCD screen on a phone ever again. Of course, the longevity issues aren't relevant here neither is the burn-in (there are software solutions). AMOLED also improves latency a lot.

For picture quality OLED is worth it.

I would recommend waiting because as far as I know the tech isn't compleatly finished yet and life lenght is a issue.

The most glaring problem is that the colour components of the display age differently. The blue component will diminish (lose luminance) faster than the red in example.

If you don't like clouding and flashlighting then it's absolutely worth it. I got an expensive 4k TV with LED backlight, and local dimming and it's still horrible. My next TV is definitely gonna be OLED.

Which one you got?

Yes, on my smartphone I also got amoled and don't wanna miss it. But I already got burn ins from using google maps navigation too often.

Nevertheless, if the get rid of these issues, then I will consider buying one. Samsung Qled still looks really good and is really bright.

Samsung UE65JS9500. It was the best TV released that year and it's garbage. But I'll have to stick with it for a few more years or until I have too much money again and OLED TVs are perfect.

You should take a look at the new Samsung QLED TVs, it's a new screen technology that isn't as tiny as OLED TVs but match the picture quality (Live colors and true Dark).

I work at an electronics retailer so I am exposed to the differences quite often, and I have to say, OLED is mind-boggling. The colours and vibrancy are way above any normal LED type display.

They said the exact same thing about "SUHD" and look how that went.

Good timing. I just upgraded myself.

OLED better with blacks, LED better at bright images. Its that simple.

LED will always show some light in black because it is back(side) lit. It is unavoidable.

But OLED's struggle in very light rooms, that's a fact. I had one in the family room and had to swap it with a QLED I had in the cinema room.

I have a LG65B7V and a new 65 inch Sammy QLED. Both very, very good. OLED just pips it when viewed correctly. Sammy wins in a bright environment though.

Interesting point on LG is that no matter which TV model you get in the current up to date range, they all have the same panel. The further up the range you go you are just paying for better surround or stand etc.

Good analisys.

Only I would argue OLED looks better even with bright images, the only real issue with oled is burn in, but it's much less noticeable compared light halos on black of LED tvs.

Also, on point all LG TVs have the same panels, despite a huge variance in price between different models.

I wish TVs were as cheap as that here in Japan.
