The only OLED screen i've seen is my Vita and its still sexy every time.

I have an LG OLED 55 inch. I believe its second generation.

I just don't have a single bad word to say about it. The latest generation/s have both forms of HDR enabled so are more future-proofed than mine is (mine doesn't have Dolby Vision).

Netflix 4k looks amazing. Games on both PS4 and Xbox One S look amazing.

When I upgraded from a perfectly serviceable LCD, the difference was just astounding.

Edit: Obviously the one bad word to say is the price haha.

OLEDS are amazing especially for watching movies due to its Blacks however for gaming i went for the more brighter LEDs like Samsung QLED. I find the results really satisfying and cost me half the price of an OLED.

I still watch movies on VHS sometimes so that gives you an idea of how I view this question. Of course, I also watch movies in 4K etc but, to me, the most important thing with movies and games is the movie and game. The resolution is not the deciding factor in whether or not the game or movie is good. I can play a shitty game in 4K and have a much worse experience than playing Frogger on Atari 2600 using an old CRT. That's just how I am.

So, imo? No, OLED... it's not worth it.

I don't think there is ever a reason to spend more than about $800 on a TV.

I have a $300 65" Element non-smart LCD. Works great. Only negative is the speakers suck, but that is becoming a standard on most TVs. But that's ok as I have a nice stereo.

Before that I had a a $600 42" Sony non-smart LCD. Also worked well, but screen was worse that this Element lol.

My next main TV will be an OLED 4K over 60". But not until I can get one for under $800 and only then if I have a good use to put my still working Element .

OLED 4k HD Ultra TVs are so worth it. Bargain for all that technology you get for the price. Hurry and buy an OLED now before they run out of stock!

OLED might be a huge step forward, but its not worth those insanely high prices imo. My family just got a 65 inch LG 4K that we got for $1000. Yeah sure it was like "budget" 4k, but we really don't really care about the small diffferences that models that are double the price give (besides HDR, but spending $500 or so extra for just HDR seems sorta foolish).

I would suggest getting a regular 4ktv at less than half the price of the oleds, and use the leftover money to buy a shit ton of games.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Depends on what you use it for. It is not suitable for attaching a PC on it due to burn ins. Same as gaming.
They still have the same flaws as in the beginning:

Lower brightness compared to LCD and decreasing further with time.
Low lifecycle
Burn in
Higher latency in regard to non oled.

But it's perfect for watching movies in a dark room.

If you don't like clouding and flashlighting then it's absolutely worth it. I got an expensive 4k TV with LED backlight, and local dimming and it's still horrible. My next TV is definitely gonna be OLED.
