This also makes me excited to see how metroid prime will end up looking, or if Retro decides to go for a more realistic approach with whatever they are doing, on how the final product will look like.

Retro is not doing Metroid. They said some new team is building it.

I meant that Im looking foward to see how Metroid looks like, AND whatever Retro is cooking up.Sorry if I did not make my point clear.

Mindblowing, a game like this looking so good on the go, I'm gonna get this for sure.

PS4 1080p/60fps + max ~30sec load screens

vs

Switch (docked) 720p?30fps + whoknowshowlong load screens

fps games on the go? hmm... game like Doom, is better suited for a ps4 or pc, imo.

I guess if you switch is your only option.

Are you gonna be the whole gen pointing the obvious differences in specs? At this point you already should understand some value flexibility over power, is not a matter of having just a Switch, I have a PC and I still rather play this on Switch.

I think that Doom being level-based is not bad for a handheld experience. I've played the original version on the PS4, but I'd gladly take the downgrade if I knew I could play it on the go. It's much more important to me, and partly one of the reasons I'm excited about the possibility of porting AAA games to the Switch. As long as it's stable and playable, of course.

And, as I said in numerous ocasions, it's impossible to demand the same for the Switch. PS4 has obviously better specs, it's not even a contest. Downgrades are mandatory. It's up to the player to decide if he accept that or buy a better looking, but not portable version.

I remember when the original DOOM was ported to SNES, Saturn, etc. Those were horrible ports, with levels being completely rebuilt and unplayable frame rates...

This actually looks great and very smooth! Well, it obviously looks terrible in a side-by-side comparison but nobody plays games that way. DOOM on the go, what more do you want?

So much for the Switch killing the PS4.

Really? On a handheld device?

No, rumor is that has dynamic resolution that goes down to 540p, we don't have any confirmation for that, and in any case this is not final version of game.

More videos are popping up on YouTube. I still have to say, that this game looks solid on a handheld device. I am amazed that they've pulled this through.

Who said that and how would this make it different?

Device is irrelevant, 720P is a push for me.

1080P is minimum for me to be honest, but my laptop is 3K and never want to go back to 1080P.

To not be able to play any system that came out before the most current generation must be a sad life.
