The IGN footage is horrible to see due to the reflection cast on the screen. But reading the preview, it seems that its an excellent port.I would have liked that Bethesda said on what resolution amd frames the game runs, but from the footage, it seems that is at least a 30 fps locked.
All that power argument about Switch not being able to run third party games, for the most part, has been thrown out the window.

This also makes me excited to see how metroid prime will end up looking, or if Retro decides to go for a more realistic approach with whatever they are doing, on how the final product will look like.

Digital Foundry emulate the Switch version on PC.
They used a downclocked GT 1030.

I would have liked to see if there's some form of motion controll for the camera. I'll have to wait for docked footage to see that, I suppose. I can't play FPS on consoles without motion aiming like Metroid Prime Collection, and specially in a fast-paced game like DOOM, it will be essential. Still, it looks amazing as it is.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I am getting both Doom and Skyrim when they release on the Switch. I played Doom on the PS4 Pro and thought that it was incredibly fun. It throws you straight into the action and game play is exhilarating. Having the ability to take this on the go with the Switch is most excellent. It seems to be getting good impressions by those who have had hands on experience with the game.

I never finished the main quest for Skyrim, and hopefully that will change when I get it on the Switch. Again, hands on impressions for the Switch version seem positive.

To be fair, the base version of Doom ran at 60 on the twins (or close to it).

Nier: Automata?

Thrown out of the window? If it does run at only 30FPS (which the Digital Foundry guy says btw.) even with lowered resolution and effects, then it's pretty much confirmed. The vast majority of games released by the big publishers don't use 60FPS for their games on Xbox One and PS4.

Rumor on resolution is 540p in undocked.

What I meant is that the game seems to run at a level that makes the port an acceptable game, at the very least. The game doesnt need to be perfect, it needs to play well enough so that the game is essentially the same on Switch, minus the bells and whistles that we know that needs to be cut.

And yeah, if Doom and Wolfenstein can be ported, games like Nier are no brainers to me(in the sense that they are feasible to be brought over)
