Crazy how all these "niche games are selling" a million to 3 million on PS4

Well like 600k of it's sales are on steam, plus this is shipped + digital not sold. But yes, I agree with you.

This game will probably do 2.5 - 3 mil life time : ) Funny how all these "niche" "japanese" games that supposedly don't matter to the industry are selling like hotcakes. What game could be made like this in the west? What game in the west could have this "niche status" but still sell so well? People really need to look at things from a more nuanced perspective. The fact that this game won't sell Call of Duty numbers has nothing to do with it's country, or being "niche", it's about providing a product with a much more focused scope that ends up doing Triple A numbers. This, Persona, and Nioh will probably all sell 2.5-3 million lifetime(maybe a tad less for Nioh). Good for the Japanese game industry.

To be honest, I doubt Persona 5 will sell much copies anymore. Unless they do a re-release. It ain't gona reach that sweet 2M spot.

Can't say I agree to be honest. You could be right though : (

I started playing it yesterday and so far, I am liking it.

It only needs to sell 200K copies to reach 2m. Do you think Persona 5 will just stop selling at 1.8M?

Your article is about shipments, not sold-through.

So yeah, I'll stand by what I said previously.

Check my edit.
Also, just to point out if Atlus shipped 2milion copies even if it's shipped it will be counted as sold-through as it's final LTD.  Eventually this retailer will be able to sell it either by discount or by promo bundles.

Very well deserved. I absolutely love the game.

Yeah, being 39th in the UK weekly means almost nothing to be honest, we're talking about less than a few hundred copies sold (And I'm still generous).

We shall see if the game will manage to reach the milestone during the holiday, cuz otherwise, it will need a re-release aka P5 : The Crimson xD

AFAIK it has a limited stocks when it launch in UK. Also, I am just showing you that P5 is still selling and P5 showing in the charts after a no show in top 40 means that there was a new shipments.

Also, Just because we haven't heard anything from Atlus it doesn't mean it didn't reached that milestone already. It's only 5 months when P5 was released in the west. The last update was July and that was 2 months ago. So yeah let's just wait and see.

Realistically this will probably sell over 3m by the end of 2017. What a Smash hit. Nier is no longer niche.

Good for PG, didn't quite enjoy this as I hope I would, but congrats to them nonetheless.

Nintendo Switch FC: SW-6340-7643-4233 aka Renji

Steam: Lee Roid

That's pretty good for this game, I don't think anyone really expected it to do as well as it has.
