This seemed interesting and touching enough to be worth sharing.
Basically, people digging through the Switch's firmware discovered a fully functioning emulator with the NES game Golf on it, complete with Joy-Con instructions for it, though there does not appear to be any way to launch it. This could suggest that old NES games are coming with updates to allow for new controls, but it was suggested by the community that this might also be a protective charm in honor of Iwata that is present within every Switch.
An Omamori is apparently a popular charm in Japan that is meant to offer protection and good luck to those who have one. Golf, meanwhile, was a game that Iwata himself coded, and it had been proposed that by embedding it deep within every Switch they are both offering a tribute to Iwata and including his luck and protection with each console.
Nintendo hasn't confirmed this, but given that they apparently would conclude major meetings about the Switch by saying "For Iwata", this seems pretty likely. I hope that is indeed the case, as it's rather a lovely discovery and sentiment.
