I only have VGC figures for these, I assume this is where he got the numbers from too.

Metroid Prime - 42k
Prime 3 - 32k
Other M - 47k
Hunters - 33k

Saying it did "very good" for the franchise seems a bit of a stretch when it's the worst out of the ones vgc has numbers for anyway. It did well though.

Could struggle to get much over 500k lifetime though.

Well, I don't know if "for the franchise" is really a good sign, as it's the reason we don't see see so many Metroid games.
