Forums - Gaming Discussion - A new look for an old game franchise

What game franchise do you think can go in a new direction?
Spinoffs are cool, but what franchise do you think could do with, or handle a genre shift?
(Kind of like Super Mario to Mario Kart)

I think we could do with a tactics Pokemon game (I never played Conquest, it came at the wrong time for me).
It would be very interesting to see what Intelligent Systems could do with access to the Pokemon IP.
6v6 battles with a heavy focus on terrain, fast combat, cinematics and story.
Intelligent Systems could make use of their decades of experience to deliver a tactics game that is easy to learn, difficult to master and quick to play.
Each match could be over in under 15 mins, giving Nintendo another game to show off as an esport title.

(Edit: Fixed Intelligent Systems)

I understand that Nintendo has to deal with Tencent to lay their ground on chinese soil, but a MOBA Pokemon game would have been received so much better and actually moved units, instead of the generic MOBA the Switch's getting.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I hear it is really big in China, so that is cool for them I guess.
Personally I have a MOBA allergy.
Tried DOTA 2 for about an hour, and never played one since (though I guess I probably should)

A Pokemon paint of coat may just get me to try one properly.

Is that a dig at Intelligent Systems or just a typo?

The first time I thought it was a typo, but then you wrote it again. Any particular reason to hate on Intelligent Systems?

I probably didn't realise the typo first time around, copied the name because I knew I would use it again, and pasted the incorrect title.
Both times not realising the error.

But hey, at least I capitalised the name correctly.

I don't hate Inelegant Intelligent Systems, I promise.

What about the cartoon look of skrim?
