Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Switch's best feature as a console

It has a battery.

My power went out for just about a second, normally my progress in game would be lost.
Not so with the Switch, and while my PC is starting up.
I can continue playing my game.

All home consoles need a battery from here on out.

To increase costs and failure rates? Not to mention limiting their choice of chipset if it was for that purpose, a battery wouldn't power a PS4 for very long.

The best option would be a very small battery, just enough that when it detects a loss of power it can put the console into hibernation.

But neither are needed.

"It has a battery."

Yup, really handy console especially in my city where black outs are not announced. And thank God for power banks.

Yeah, but I don't have one, and the Switch still came to the rescue.

I wpuld say the Portability mode

But also how I can play it right away! No need for the console to boot up or wait for the game to load.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Most consoles since the Sega saturn have a battery in them.

I am more talking about a feature that could be transplanted, at least in some function to other consoles.

But yeah, it is lovely being able to still play games when all of my monitors are busy with other tasks.

That's to keep track of time, right?
