Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Square Enix trying to get the main Final Fantasy XV on Switch, talking with Nintendo and Epic

Sounds like its too much hassel to port.
If their going to basically have to remake the intire thing in a new engine.

I guess if they think porting the original game is too expensive or difficult, they'll just bring that mobile version and charge just 40€ for it. It would still be too much, but they'd do it.

your sig reminded me that we should be seeing this kind of news about Persona 5 Switch...

I'm expecting to not hear about it for a long time. Sony does not have any kind of exclusivity deal with Atlus for P5 (that we know of, and if they had, Sony would've announced eons ago), but they certainly have some deal in place. Maybe they'll wait a year or so before the port, so that they maximize their sales on PS4 before getting everyone to double dipp.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Final Fantasy XV already runs bad enough at times on the PS4 and X1, I'd hate to see what it would run like on the Switch.

If they can get it on there and running well, it'd definitely be an amazing feat!!

Very interesting. Maybe they can just gives us a turn-based "2D-HD" Final Fantasy VI remake instead? I'd rather just play Final Fantasy XV on PC. Doesn't seem like the game that would be fun on the go.

Considering the game didn't run perfectly even on PS4Pro I think Switch version will suffer a lot to happen.

Maybe it will be a hybrid engine, using the best tech from UE4 and Luminous Studio.

Perhaps it would be better if they took the Dragon Quest XI approach for their next titles.
I don't want the Switch to start compromising games, and I hope it is to weak to do so, like the 3DS.

By compromising games, you mean...?
That they lower the standards of the games during development so that it'll work properly on PS4, XBO and Switch?

They make the PS4 / PC version worse because it has to fit on the Switch.

We see that with PC games, it would suck for games to watered down even more.

The Switch has an even weaker CPU than the PS4, that means that the games would have to lose polygons, AI and perhaps some graphical features.
That may mean that more games will run at 60 FPS on consoles more often though.

well lets just hope that KH3 will be on switch. that game has time to do so.

Surprise! Well, not really, considering that even phones are getting their own version of the game.

Oh please! Just brong that FFXV Fishing VR Game to the Switch! That will sell since "Switch hav no gamezzzz and Switch owners are hungry"

Pocky Lover Boy!
