No, but they're merely adapting the footage from the existing anime. They also say that they're animating new animated scenes specifically for the game.

So this is not a sequel, more like extended cut? A visual novel based on anime based on a visual novel? Meh

Yep, seems that way.
I'm personally interested insofar as I dropped the anime midway, but I'd prefer that they just came up with an extended cut to the anime instead.
