I just caught some notice of the heat that can from shooters like Battlefield and Call of Duty or Overwatch and Team Fortress 2 and was wondering where Splatoon as a franchise sits. 

 

Do COD fans hate it? Do Overwatch fans hate it? Do they not care?

 



The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I thought you would be asking if players of most typical shooters have problems at playing Splatoon, which seems a more interesting question to me, but I don't think they care about it. Each player base is minding their own business with their game of preference.



My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Not really comparable as Splatoon is a third-person shooter and the other games are first-person shooters. There are also lots of other fundamental differences between the games you mentioned.

Screw that I play Splatoon and I hate COD and all its players ... wait no I don't, I had a couple of titles and despite them being on the WiiU with a tiny userbase I still enjoyed them for a while. Don't get me started on those Overwatch players ... ahh i have that one too on PS4 and it is pretty fun although I'm only decent with a handful of characters. ...? screw TF2 and Battlefield players since I don't own them?

Nobody is forcing COD and other shooter games players to buy Splatoon so there is no issue there. This might be one of the dumbest threads that I've seen on VGC, lol.

I told a friend of mine who plays battlefield that you should try out splatoon, and his answer was "isn't that a kids game?" I would assume many cod and Battlefield fans won't really give it chance since it looks cartoonish, making them go straight for the conclusion that it's a kids game.



Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Huh, I remember making a thread asking about how Splatoon could pull in CoD players, I think that didn't go so well, anyways as a casual shooter player(is this a thing?), I tried the game because it just looks interesting, the way you focus on painting the ground rather than killing spree, I thought it might be fun(and I was right) so yeah.
