I'd prefer a remake of the original Donkey Kong. But yeah, it looks great.

It looks awwwwwwwwwful. And I mean awful. Like, one thing I'll say about Nintendo games in Unreal Engine, is that even though they usually look quite a bit off from what would actually be the result, they at least look like a nice product and show that Nintendo games can be done in high quality. This looks terrible, it's almost surreal in how awkward it looks.
From one side looks great, from other totally out of place and very strange.
Its not horrible by any means, but its not good either. Not every game needs a realistic vibe to it, and many work better with a different art style.Donkey Kong is one of such titles.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Impressive at how much personality is lost in the transition. Dull, bleak and lifeless; things the original avoided ....... In regards to presention of course.
Donkey Kong doesn't need this. It is perfectly fine the way Rare and Retro handled it - photorealist graphics would suck the life out of it.

I didn't think they were photorealistic. |
Whatever. It's fugly lol

Is that what happened with Mortal Kombat 4? |
It happened so often, from Castlevania 64 to Metroid 3DS all the time.
Every time I see one of these shitty "TEH NINTENDO IN UE4 OMGZ" I die a little inside. They are always so ugly. They have no charm. There is a reason Nintendo games look so good is the art style always exceeds its technical limitations. Every single one of these fucking Unreal 4 things with Nintendo characters looks bland and lifeless. Tropical Freeze looks better because of the art.
