If the PS4 ends 2017 around 72-73m.... it just needs to do 13-14m in 2018 to pass it.

So that sounds likely as well, come early 2019, the PS4 should be over the xb360.

 

The more fun question is if the PS4 will be over 100m by the end of 2019?

Oh god... For God's. Sake, guys make a mobile version of vgc...

 

 

3ds shipments as of June are 67.08m! 3ds isn't as much yoy down as Vgc shows because it was undetracking 3ds in Europe by 10-13k weekly for the first 24 weeks of the year after an almost perfect tracking in Europe in 2016, ( given Nintendo sales data ).  How do i know that? Nintendo of France revealed that 3ds has hit 4.9m as of May, 200k Jan-May ( up yoy ) , 9k on average every week in France, so 13k weekly sales base line in the whole Europe here (till june) is quite off obviously!

In this case we are compairng gaming machines. Its because we are using VG's chart to do the prediction.  It would be cool to do a console only prediction and thats not really a bad idea.

But what is your prediction vs PS4.  We assume that PS4 will pass it but the question is can you pin point a time period based on the data you just sited.

It should pass it in CYQ4 even if 3ds overperfoms ( i think it will but not as much as needed ) on holidays like last year.
I would elaborate if I was posting from pc...

Apparently, that's based on both companies sales forecast about their consoles
The newly N2DSXL is essentially a significantly cheaper New 3ds xl, 3ds having a big Pokemon game release in November, Nintendo release of several coveted New 3ds xl/2ds xl themed versions, like snes and samus New 3ds xl or pokeball and Pikachu editions of New 2ds xl, plus the existence of the super cheap 2ds with Mario kart 7 or New super Mario bros 2 are enough for 3ds to considerably exceed Nintendo expectations once again but not enough to prevent ps4 surpassing it in the end of 2017 and I would be shocked if that doesn't happen.

For me I don't like to compare home consoles and handhelds. For me it's two different but I understand the handheld market will just be Switch in a few years

For me I don't like to compare home consoles and handhelds. For me it's two different but I understand the handheld market will just be Switch in a few years

The 3DS just moght make it this year with pokemon and tge 2dsxl but yeah definetly be next year.
