I disagree.

I find it funny how big Sony fans talk about all these exclusive games when, many of those games have sold roughly like this:

-Yakuza 6: 350k
-Nier Automata: 800k
-Persona 5: 1.01 million
-Horizon Zero Dawn: 3.36 million
-Nioh: 750k

With an installbase of 65 million, how come those numbers are relatively low? Certainly the ones listing them are also buying them? I mean, even Naughty Dogs latest game is looking to be under performing. What gives?

Yet, look at the attach rate for the PS4. 7.54 games per console and counting. That's one of the highest in history. All your numbers say is that PS4 owners have a lot to choose from, and have diverse interests.

Is there a Fire Emblem game coming for my Nintendo switch? If so then yes. Nintendo wins regardless of whatever anyone else does (in my eyes... god I love Fire Emblem)

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Just want to say...yes I am the author of that article and I own that outlet. Actually vgchartz.com was an inspiration to my domain name (the vg part, good marketing.) I hope you all enjoyed it and while you may not agree, I do feel I backed up my points and even referenced this site.

I actually freelanced for VG Chartz at E3 2016 and posted hands-on preiviews of Zelda and Horizon.

I will say this...I don't know if Nintendo necessarily won 2017 nor do I really care if they did, but seeing them succeed thus far is great for me as a long-time fan/supporter and its great for the industry. After a slump with the Wii U, the Switch needed to be a jump-starter and, so far, it has done just that. Sales are strong, the big software from first-party is solid, and, just recently, Nintendo's stock closed at 44.59, which is the highest in almost a decade.

I am having a blast playing on the Switch with the games that I have (and I have Zelda on Wii U). And to those undermining the ability to play undocked, then that's a shame because its such a nice convenient feature to have, especially since I don't usually have/use the TV often. I am looking forward to Fire Emblem Warriors, Super Mario Odyssey, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I probably will get Skyrim, NBA 2K, FIFA, and DOOM this year as well to round out my list of games bought this year (so far, have 10 games for Switch).

As for the 3DS, its not doing too shabby for a 6-year-old handheld console. It has a very strong 6-year catalog and the games that have released this year are solid, from Fire Emblem Echoes to Metroid: Samus Returns to Dragon Quest VIII/XI to Lady Layton to Etrian Odyssey V to Mario and Luigi Superstar Sage + Bowser's Minions and so on.

So overall, its a great year for Nintendo with some hiccups here and there. Are they back to the Wii/DS days of dominance and such? No. Nevertheless, they are in a better place as of now and there is surely more to look forward to in the future.

All I want to say is that in my eyes guiduc rules this thread and I find it disgusting that he got shit thrown at him left and right, having his word twisted in every possible way and got accused for things he never said. All he did was trying to bring peace and order into this mess. #guiducourlordandsavior

OP: Imo Nintendo nailed it this year with the Switch and the 3DS. Playstation's lineup is good, too, but it's not Sony's effort alone. Therefore, Nintendo should get more credit naturally.
