Halk Hogan has released a newer version of his HD rework project for Witcher 3, this time working on the water details, as well as other textures.

I'll be giving this a test run shortly, to see what's what. The water modifications already look like a step up from the vanilla game.

It's interesting how they call it "HD Rework" as though to say the original wasn't HD enough

Original is fine in some places , though I find some areas like rock formations to be on the low res side, as well as woodwork and roof thatching.

I've only played the game on PS4 (Looking forward to the Pro update for when I play through Blood and Wine at some point, lol) and it was already gorgeous to look at, sure the textures weren't always the best, and the water could probably have been better, but when it's all together, and the sun is setting, and the bushes and trees are blowing around or the waves are dipping high and low, and the light is shining through branches and stuff... man it looks so bloody good!

If my PC could run the game on the highest settings, and with a mod like this enabled, I'd be incredibly tempted to double dip and buy it again, not to play the story again, but just to run around the world and take it all in again, that was by far my favourite part of the game, and with mods it looks so unbelievably beautiful that I'll admit it makes me jealous of PC gamers with high end rigs, lol. (I'm a PC gamer too but I'm only running a GTX960 (4gb model, and overclocked it lol) and an i5 3570k (overclocked to 4ghz)... so nothing too special but good enough to play all the games I want, lol)

Your CPU is still great.

Your Geforce 960 though should be roughly inline with a Geforce 1050, but fall short of the 1050Ti.
You would see big gains if you stepped it up to a Geforce 1060/1070/Radeon RX 480/580/Vega 56 if you can find one for a good price.
