What region doesn't have internet? I think if you don't have internet, gaming is a lesser worry.

Smaller towns in remote places(even in developed countries), certain places in undeveloped countries. And you know, the other point you simply ignored, the one when something happens to your internet connection that makes you lose it for some time, which is more common than it should be.

It is an online focused game. It's no different from not being able to play an MMO when your internet goes down.

GT never really had much of a campagin mode.  It's mostly race to unlock cars, upgrades, and tracks.  If Sony can pull off the online portion, I can see this game being the evolution of racing sims.  From, https://www.finder.com.au/gt-sport-career-mode

"The FIA came to Polyphony Digital in 2013 with a desire to look at the future of motorsport. Yamauchi spoke to me about the impact heading to the FIA’s French headquarters had on him.

“I immediately got a lot of inspiration and a lot of ideas came up.” Any chance of a Gran Turismo 7 went out the door at that moment. Sport was born and Yamauchi’s focus is now on taking this FIA opportunity and using it to push the boundaries on what is possible with a racing game.

The career mode, or Campaign as it is referred to in Gran Turismo Sport, ends with your FIA license arriving in the post."

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

Wait, so it requires the connection because they're worried about people cheating in the single player portion of the game. Am I reading this right? If we don't have PS+ we can't go online. So than the check is meaningless.

You can still go online without PS+. You don't need PS+ to sign in to PSN.

Go online and do what? SSX time trial leaderboards stuff? If the game is for online only. Than they shouldn't say things that sound like single player content.

But was the single player stuff really needed to be behind an internet acess?Thats the real question.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

And....goodbye hype,i hope this game fails.

Isn't this old news? My friend was telling me this weeks ago lol.

I'm not too bummed, it's 2017, not many people would be struggling to find an internet connection. Plus it's GT, the god of all racing games! I'm just excited to jump back in after skipping 6.

Pointless and annoying. Also, no career, no reason for it to exist.

Wait, is this correct?

7. Go one step closer with PlayStation VR

Want to take it to that extra level? Then strap yourself in and check out Gran Turismo Sport in VR, featured within the “Arcade mode”…

Here you’ll be able to go head to head (1:1) against another AI opponent in over 135 cars on 27 new and classic tracks that will take you from the Japanese metropolis to the Mexican-American border.

I thought VR was only supported on a thrid of the tracks. Is that a typo or did they manage to include all tracks for VR?

Just for a quick clarification.
I won't be able to play without internet?

The problem isn't internet availabilty. For me, the issue is that when the studio shuts down game server, my game will be nothing more than a 60 bucks frisbee. So, at least, the online dependency must be justificable.

Let me just use The Division as an example. Really, I don't see why can't I lay it offline. Ok, dark zones are PvP, but the main map is just a big area with simple missions against AI enemies. The only real player interaction here is that people can join me and help me do the missions. But it really isn't something that should be mandatory.
