Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Should Market NBA2K18 For Switch More

Looking at this:

It looks like this is a really, really good port all things considered.

NBA2K17 on Switch is significant in that I think it is really the first AAA third party game for the system. Not only that, it's really the first major game on Switch based off a PS4/XB1 series that has come to Switch is reasonably close to the PS4/XB1 versions.

NBA2K is a monster series in sales too ... consistently one of the 10 top third party franchises in the NPD ranking.

They could very easily do a "You're used to playing NBA2K like this" (show guy playing 2K on TV at home), "But are you used to playing it like this" (guy undocks Switch and takes it outside, playing on plane, bus, university study hall with friends, etc.). Simple, but I think it would be effective. Just seems like this kind of a big deal or at least it should be.

This is one of the most popular PS4/XB1 franchises, and the Switch lets you play it anywhere, anytime.

I think FIFA is a priority in terms of 3rd party sports games. If 2K18 fails, there's still a chance for EA Sports games to fill the spot, but if FIFA fails, then we might not get any of the EA Sports games, which include FIFA, NFL, Baseball, Hockey...

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I don't even think NBA 2K17 is ever coming to the Switch

Whoops 2K18 ;). Still to my point, straight from NPD today, the 10 best selling games in the US market for the last 12 months, NBA 2K17 is no.3 ... that's huge folkes. Has there ever been an almost feature perfect portable port of such a high selling home console 3rd party series before?

Best selling games during the last 12 months:

  1. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  2. Battlefield 1
  3. NBA 2K17
  4. Grand Theft Auto V
  5. Madden NFL 17
  6. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
  7. FIFA 17
  8. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild*
  9. Final Fantasy XV
  10. For Honor

It look relly nice.

I've seen quite a bit of TV advertising for FIFA here in the UK, which is good to see. Hopefully NBA gets some ads in the US.
