I am not a fan of jRPGs . The last jRPG I played was Grandia 2 for the Dreamcast, but I decided to download this demo and I was shocked that I was actually digging this game. I can't wait to buy it now.

Normally people say OP (opening post/poster) TC is a new one for most people on forums.
It's made by the people who made Bravery Default, I believe, so to me it's no surprise the battle system sucks. BD had the most boring battle system ever made. Takes too damn long for one random encounter

I had a lot of issues with Bravely, but combat was probably the single thing I applauded it for. Auto-battle + fast-forward animations made grinding a breeze, and I would finish fights in like 5-10 seconds. I honestly wish more turn-based RPGs had features like this, playing something like Pokémon afterwards made me want to scream at how slow it was.

Honestly, no offense intended, I think you have to work with the combat system more. As far as I understood (at least the strategy worked for me), there's no point in using a normal attack twice unless you manage to pull a break. It's better to safe those points to buff the team and use habilities, so you hit way harder once the defenses are down. So battles don't last much in the end (except for boss battles which can take you around... 5 minuted max?). Also, use defense when a enemy is charging an attack. It seems to be that the strategies are varied, and being able to store attacks and hit harder when you need it adds depth to it. Honestly, I'm surprised if this is the Bravely team, the game based on the demo feels vastly superior in terms of gameplay, look and writing. It's also surprisingly dark, I thought the game was going to be lighter in tone.

Really? Is TC (the term) too old now or something? Everyone used to know it 'back in my day' lol

It's just not a fun system like Pokemon. Pokemon is fun, BD is boring, slow, and just not interesting. The style was cool. But for me the combat was about as interesting as PM: Sticker Star
Everyone is saying basically the opposite, in fact even reading the op I don't see how the combat is that bad at all.
