Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Only 35 days between Odyssey and Xeno 2 release dates...

Cannibalization schmannibalization. It's not like these games are timed exclusives. Just buy them when you're ready for them, they'll still be around even after the launch period. Prices of Nintendo games won't go down anyway so it doesn't matter when you get them.

Mario Odyssey, Assassin's Creed: Origin's, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus all come out on October 27th. In addition I'm going to a Halloween party that day that's hosted by the band "The Offspring". Fuck my wallet and my time :D

I'm so pumped tho!

I wish I had a Switch. Why does everything have to be so overpriced in my country ;_;

What concerns me is only 2 weeks between Skyrim and XB2.

Releasing two open world fantasy RPGs on the same system just 14 days apart seems to be asking for cannibalization.

Do you think there's a lot of overlap between JRPGs and WRPGs?

I think there's a fair bit of overlap; one may be Japanese and one Western, but they're still both open world fantasy RPGs on the same platform.

Well two things.  One, very different games.  So overlap is kinda low.  Two, they are launching smack in the biggest spending season of the year, tons of money to go around.  In the holidays, there can ven be synergy as people by one and grab the other while they are at it cause it looks like another good option.  And 2 weeks is a pay period's worth of breathing room.  If this were the spring, it would be entirely different.  Less money to go around.

I dunno, still seems a bit too close for comfort. Hopefully they don't don't infight too much; it would be best for Switch and its userbase if both perform well.

I never saw issues with these type of things. Games dont just disappear off store shelves because one game had a bigger launch.. the legs will still be there and the system is going to gain alot of attention from both games.
I dont care to much for Xeno 2 so ill pass. Ill buy Odyessey day one.

Nintendo is killing it this year!!!

Agree.
