9/10

Bottom line: Lots of great new games in the coming months and growing AAA support. As a bonus: 3DS is still alive and kicking.

Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 are releasing BARELY over a month apart. That alone is incredible to say the least.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

It suffered from some pace problems at times, but it was a pretty solid Direct. XC2 and Super Mario Odyssey look awesome. It was astonishing to see how many different things Mario can do in Odyssey, and how huge it is for Mario game. XC2 scale and gameplay are something else. And they managed to make it in two years? Holy shit. Biggest surprises were Doom and Wolfestein. I loved Doom, so I encourage everyone to give it a try. It'd be interesting to see how it runs on a Switch, the game looked really great on the PS4, and this will probably prove that some AAA third party games ports, with downgrade, are possible. 8/10.

7/10. Good direct. Not as good as the April one though, mostly cause the XC2 trailer dragged on forever.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

8.5/10 so i voted 9 on the poll.

More excited for the 3ds games that were shown.

Cant wait for Mario Party, Pokemon, Kirby, Layton and Minecraft

Xenoblade 2 for me feels like a big step down from Xenoblade X interms of graphics and gameplay so i was disappointed of what was shown from that game.

A lot of the third party game i was able to notice a huge difference compared to the PC and XB1 version but im happy to see third parties on the Switch.

Octopath, Splatoon update and Doom got me pretty excited though.

And you'll be able to say that to me again at least until the first half of 2018, love the system, I even must confess that I might have docked a point from the Direct 'cause Japan is getting a Pikachu themed 2DS that was missing in ours.

I think the 3ds support is pretty good tbh, even if it's mostly remasters/remakes. I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooved thew new Fire Emblem and i'm excited for the Superstar remaster and Metroid 2 remake. I was just having a bit of fun about the 3ds thing xD

Yeah, I know that, and as you said it still has some great games coming, I'll definitely pick the new Layton, Metroid 2, EO V and Culdcept Revolt in the coming months, along with others that I've yet to buy.

8/10, solid with Bethesda's continued support being a nice surprise, Project Octopath's demo is also really good.

Soooooooo... I'm the only dude here that thought the Punch Out arcade classic was hype?

I am the only person here that thought Arena of Valor was a pretty big announcement and surprise?

I am the only person here that is excited about the new Mario Party title on 3DS which is basically the Monster Hunter Generations of Mario Party?

Like were we all consuming the same direct because the stuff that seems to excite me the most is not even mentioned 4 pages into this thread.

And then there is the DOOM and Wolfenstein stuff that blew my mind. Glad to see Switch picking up big titles as well as those upgraded 3DS franchises (Octopath Travelers) which is what I was hoping Switch would be.

Now for a little better support from Capcom...

Oh and my rating was a 9/10. My only issues were pacing. Too much talking about Xenoblade and Octopath. Just 30-90 seconds of each title would have been just fine.

The Super Mario Odyssey footage was great.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 footage was okay. I think that more footage of the landscapes and towns would have been better than 10 minutes of convoluted gameplay explanations. Also, how about those cutscenes? Does anyone else think they look lackluster, especially compared to the in-game footage?

8.4 Fast and to the point.
Would be higher if they announced more new stuff, and did not drag their feet on the Pokemon segment.

Thoughts in no particular order

- No big reveal for Switch and more late ports is not a good sign for 2018 line-up
- Xenoblade 2 looks seriously underwhelming now (weak graphics, terrible characters, boring combat). But I don't have anything to play in december so it's probably better than nothing.
- Why the emphasis on Octopath Traveller? Not sure that can compete with PS4 JRPGs.
- Tales of for Switch entered vaporware status
- Still no sign of SMT Switch. It is less important than the smartphone game?
- Fire Emblem Warriors is cool

Very weak direct. Famitsu has teased 10 new game announcements next week, it's now safe to say they are mostly for PS4.
