Forums - Movies & TV - RedLetterMedia: IT movies review

They review both the original TV series and the new one. Very informative:

Just saw it, very funny. I mean, I saw the review from RedLetterMedia, not IT.

Hated the original movie, this new one seems to be a hit with teenagers, they are all over the brazilian movie theaters to see the thing, I mean, to see IT...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

After seeing this I might hold off watching the film.

Saw this earlier too, pretty funny.  I'll check out the new version when it comes out on video or Netflix or whatever, not paying $13 to see it in theaters.

Side note, I rewatched the original "IT" the other night on TV, I hadn't seen it in years and while the first half of the film with the kids is still halfway decent (feels like a feature-length episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" if anyone remembers that show), the 2nd half with the adults is laugh-out-loud bad acting all around, so bad that even Tim Curry's Pennywise can't keep the movie from flying off the rails.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I've never seen the original and I think it looks too dated to go back to it now.

Just saw "it." Basically Red Letter nailed it, it was "just ok." Better than the original in some respects though I still prefer the original over this - might only be for the nostalgia but still.. This movie didn't do a ton for me. A lot of it was just relying on more gore and cheap jump scares to be scary. The kids were alright, pretty good acting, but most were either too over the top or just sort of there. Didn't really have the same chemistry the original cast had either. Also didn't scare me too much aside from a few parts. Clown definitely looked creepier this time around, I'll give them that.
