You can't have something that's "semi-objective", it goes against what objective is in the first place. It's like saying I have semi-cancer. No, it's either currently cancerous or it isn't.

Alright that's fair. There's a general consensus when it comes to comedy. A small sect of people laugh at 'bad jokes' and a funny dark joke is much better than a funny clean one imo, and but if the dark joke isn't what's considered 'good' then it just bombs way worse than a bad clean joke.

Dark humor? Has the definiton of dark humor changed? I wouldn't categorize racial slurs as any sort of humor.

In the end, he's not your responsibility. You dealt with him for as long as humanly possible, just drop him. Ghost him. That's what us college kids do.

Dark humor is any kind of humor that is niche due to how offensive or taboo it can be. Very specifically, it makes light of exceedingly tragic situations and turns it from tragedy to absurdity.

If there's anything I like about myself, it's that I am usually lax and rarely have anything get to me.

 

I agreed to accept his apology and have planned on having a  (non alcoholic) drink with him tomorrow prior to class. Hopefully it goes well.
